#HotOnesVersus
, we got Aubrey Plaza vs. Patti LuPone 🔥 The premise: tell the truth, or suffer the wrath of the Last Dab, and whoever eats the most wings, loses. Who do you think will come out on top? 👀 Tune in on Tuesday @ 1PM ET.
Um actually that’s not true bc one time I asked how much the POTUS marquee from the Shubert Theater on Broadway was, expecting them to say $300, but then they said $30 and now I own the POTUS marquee
“Discover EVERYTHING that happened before Dorothy dropped in”
“Let me tell you the WHOLE story”
Oh so they are just fully fucking with us at this point
This might be a hot take but Once is one of my fav shows of all time, and I don’t understand why they have to keep changing it every time they bring it back. NYCC is doing it upon a mattress, the last revival did it on an island. Why can’t we just keep it set in an Irish pub?
You never know who you'll meet on the road to Hell... Father-daughter duo Jon Jon and Isa Briones are joining the Broadway company of Hadestown as Hermes and Eurydice on March 19th.
@jjordan28
Dune Part 2 wasn’t greenlit until after part 1 came out, so while yes it was always planned to be two movies it’s a little different. Wicked part 2 has already been filmed and is basically done, so there is no fear of it not being made/never coming out.
I need them to keep extending indefinitely, because I love these announcement videos and I need to see which other Broadway legends they can get to make cameos
I’m sorry what do you mean she did Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, I Dreamed a Dream and Ladies Who Lunch back to back to back? How am I supposed to recover?!?!
We love a last minute impulse buy to see Patti LuPone at Carnegie Hall! But when a prime orchestra seat pops up on Vivid Seats for 60% off- how can I resist?

Stephanie Mills returning to Broadway after SIXTY YEARS are you kidding me?!?! This is one of those castings you dream up and then think “yea but that will never happen”- truly cannot overstate how major this is and I will absolutely be seated.
The Waitress pro-shot is one of the best captured pro-shots I’ve ever seen? Like this should be the new gold standard honestly, it’s absolutely perfect
Crazy how we all applied to Shiz and seemingly the only people who got acceptance packages were big influencers with built in audiences! What are the odds?!?
It’s wild that Parade is nominated as a musical but evidently only features one song- or at least that’s what the marketing team seems to want us to think
Clearly they took a lot of liberties- this looks nothing like the musical! And they couldn’t even get Alex Brightman back after he was nominated for a TONY for the role? So disrespectful
The term “play” is actually a blanket term for any piece of theater. So all musicals ARE plays but not all plays are musicals. What we colloquially call a “play” is actually shorthand for “straight play”- a term which specifically means a play that is not a musical.
In grand Broadway Flea tradition, I bought yet another sign that is way too big for my apartment 😅 This time it’s a stage used prop sign advertising Pirelli’s Miracle Elixir- and it’s my new favorite thing I own!
My favorite part of this Willy Wonka Glasgow story is that this is still way more set than the actual Broadway production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory had
We're back! 🗓️ The 78th Annual Tony Awards will return to the legendary

It’s wild that someone can post something this objectively true, and people will still find ways to argue about it. If we can’t agree on this simple fact then we’re doomed. No one is saying there AREN’T accessible options out there- but the average ticket prices don’t lie.
@swftscivy
This is a perfect example of how the people running social media for this big companies (often not even employees of the company itself, but rather a hired agency) are often not in tune with the decisions and conversations being made behind the scenes.
*sigh* Okay, I’ll give my take on non-Jewish actors in Jewish roles
Disclaimer: I’m Jewish but I’m not speaking for all Jews here, just myself. Nor am I trying to negate anyone’s lived experience- all Jewish perspectives on this issue are valid even if they don’t align with mine
That being said it would be a GREAT bit if this book was actually just the first half of the novel, and then they release the second half of the novel next year
The only way I would want this is if they kept the 80s setting, made it a musical with music by idk let’s say the guy who wrote the music for Spring Awakening with maybe some other 80s hits thrown in for vibes, and got a musical theater performer (let’s say Ben Walker) to star.
Just in case anyone missed it burried at the end of the press release, but Lin Manuel Miranda is not returning for (what is now) “Moana 2” and instead they got Barlow and Bear of Bridgeton the Musical fame
I feel like we as a society don’t talk enough about how Da’Vine Joy Randolph got her start as a musical theater girlie in Ghost The Musical on Broadway and was nominated for a Tony
@JennyENicholson
Disney: Hmmm not sure about this whole “Marvel” thing, maybe we should play it safe in case people suddenly loose interest
Also Disney: Do you know what will never die? The love for James Cameron’s Avatar, let’s go ALL IN on that
Currently obsessing over how each Emcee in the West End production of Cabaret has had subsequently more makeup than the last- (also curious that for Broadway they reverted back to the original natural aesthetic)
Okay because I’ve seen a few people ask this- nope! Assassins only focuses on attempts made against sitting U.S. presidents. Teddy Rosevelt survived an assassination attempt in 1912 also while running for re-election which is not included since he was not president at the time.
New rule: If your show is longer than 90 minutes, it cannot start at 8. No more 8:00 show times unless your show is 90 minutes no intermission! I would like all shows to adjust their schedules accordingly at their earliest convenience :)
Nothing but respect for my favorite Elphaba! My favorite part of
@mattressmusical
was when she name dropped “The Wizard and I” and no one caught it, but I caught it and that’s what matters
@funplexflip
Okay but consider that the movie is PG so even if they did pull in some things from the book it’s still going to be incredibly different tonally
So many people responding “no” and while I would love to live in that world, the reality is in this current theater environment a show cannot survive on Broadway without a big name or recognizable IP. Sorry to burst bubbles, I know it’s not ideal, but it’s the truth.
The final maybe 30-40 minutes of this show is probably some of my favorite theater I’ve ever seen. I’m gonna be thinking about this one for a long time wow
Is it bad that I’ve never seen the book or read the movie? Been hearing great things about the musical though so excited to finally check it out!

@emilyabclark
It’s also like… the whole point of the story that none of the characters are actually how you think they are. That’s the whole premise lol
Lol I passed
@StephanieJBlock
and
@SebArcelus
on my way to my subway and just instinctively waved at them. They were definitely like “who is this person waving at us” so anyways hi Stephanie and Sebastian, that was me waving and you were fantastic in ITW when I saw you last month
I genuinely love how they have Kit Harrington in their cast, but they aren’t making that the selling point. He’s not above the title, he’s not their entire marketing campaign, he just happens one of the actors in the show. Love this approach!
I have not seen nearly enough discourse around the current West End/Broadway revivals of Cabaret spelling the name of the venue as Kit Kat Club instead of Kit Kat Klub, and I want to know what prompted this choice/if it was intentional or not
@angrypedestrian
@notthemarsh
Okay but imagine defying gravity happens and we’re all like “wow that was quick, guess it’s time to go” and as we’re getting up to leave the movie keeps going and we’re like wait what?
