Dingbat apartment buildings are so commonplace in LA, that most people don’t stop to think about how their presence has shaped the identity of Los Angeles. Therefore, I felt like these iconic buildings were deserving of joining my catalog of miniatures.
💚🐸 My latest miniature, in collaboration with Jeremy Hughes, serves as a heartfelt homage to Jim Henson’s visionary genius and his enduring impact on the world of entertainment.

I can't help but feel like this is Princess and the Frog all over again. i.e. animated person of colour in a lead role, oh wait, they're transformed into an animal for 75% of the film...
Sound Stage 16 on the Warner Bros lot in Burbank was built in 1935 and, in the same year, raised 30ft to accommodate a huge musical number. More recently, the stage has been used for countless cinematic classics like Jurassic Park, The Goonies, My Fair Lady and Ghostbusters!
Today I became a U.S. Citizen! 🇺🇸 While this country has its fair share of problems, I’m proud to call it home and join the fight to make it a better place.
@nevermindjody
Thanks very much. You can see more of my work at . These are in 1:32 scale! Wanted to choose a scale common for model cars so the buyer can display a car collection if they wish.
I’ve tested positive for Covid. I have general cold-like symptoms. It’s kinda surreal after two years of taking all the precautions and feeling protected with two vaccines and a booster. This Omicron variant is no joke, folks. Keep your guard up!
My latest
#miniature
is complete! Morgan Camera Shop on Sunset Blvd has deteriorated pretty significantly since 1938 but is still considered by many to be a cultural icon of Los Angeles.
Over the years, one of the most consistent comments on Small Scale LA’s Instagram posts has been: "Make Jumbo's Clown Room!". Last month, the opportunity finally arose to miniaturize LA’s most prominent bikini bar. 💃🤡
Beverly Hills! That’s where I want to be! Livin’ in Beverly Hills!
I’m forever thankful to be able to create art for a living! Thank you to everyone who follows, likes and buys my miniatures.
Tower Records was not just a music store; It was a place where people discovered new sounds, bonded over shared passions, and occasionally encountered their musical idols. It was a Sunset Strip cultural institution!
Well there it is folks. I've officially visited every Disney Park in the world! It took 6 years, but I've been to 12 parks in 5 different countries. 🌎 ✅
The Formosa is one of my favorite restaurants in LA, so I loved getting to build a miniature of it!
My friend and fellow miniaturist, Rachael Ferris, created the Banana Palms and additional landscaping for this project. 🙌😍

Both the Hauser and Pink Flamingo have been and the Crapi looks to be in the process of doing so (note the banner attached to the building).
Spent the last couple of days with these lovely folks from
@SundayTVNZ
. They filmed a story about me and my miniatures for New Zealand TV. What an honor!
My latest miniature is of Chili John’s on Burbank Blvd! The history of this restaurant goes back to the late 1800’s when founder John Isaac began making chili from a recipe he learned from cowboys in Wisconsin! 🤠

Wasn’t sure about getting a shirt this politically charged but then I remembered the gravity of the situation we’re in. Access to safe abortion is a matter of human right.
I was made redundant yesterday and because we're in the middle of a global pandemic, I didn't want to be without healthcare coverage. So a purchased my own insurance - $230 a month, $65 doctors visits, and $6000 out of pocket max. Below is the total cost for my old Doctor in NZ.
This might be the best thing I've ever built. I've spent the last 3 weeks making Quentin Tarantino's movie theater, The New Beverly, in 1:24 scale! See more of my LA miniatures on my Instagram

We had Milford Sound to ourselves. Without the noise of cars going by or bus loads of tourists, it was nothing but the sound of rivers, waterfalls and mountain air.
If you live in New Zealand and haven't been, GO NOW! You will never be able to experience it like this again.
Earlier this month, I was commissioned to build this miniature of Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe from

It’s finally happened… After 7 years of clicking “Remind me tomorrow”, I accidentally selected the option to restart and install updates on my laptop. Please pray for my 2012 MacBook Pro. 🙏
7 years ago, I was at Parliament House to witness the passing of New Zealand's Marriage Amendment Act 🏳️🌈👨❤️👨👭. (This tweet also serves as my "me at age 20" post 👶).
I’m sitting here under the iconic Arby’s sign in Hollywood and it reminded me that I went to the

I can’t recommend visiting New Orleans enough. It’s like Vegas but with much better food, cheaper drinks, and more culture. I loved every second of it!
