Teacher Specialists and APs/Deans are bullied too! HISD has made it a habit to overwork their campus Tier II leaders. APs and Deans don’t get OT, and do not even qualify for stipends yet they are expected to do the extra work under “other duties as assigned”. #HISDCulture

One for administrators: Don’t speak negatively about teachers behind their backs and not have the courage or work ethic to coach and help grow them. If you don’t have the capability to coach (and some of you don’t), then get someone who does.

The grievance policy doesn’t work & just gets those that file singled out & “blacklisted” in the district. Few SSOs are willing to do the right thing 4 fear of also being considered “snitch advocates”. Rather than discipline the Principal, they move the 1 who files the grievance.

Another lesson for Administrators: What you think you can keep hidden in the dark will come out in the light. Stop bullying your staff. Stop talking about them to their colleagues. Stop talking about your SSO and area Supe in a negative manner because it WILL come to their attn.

“It’s no joke living paycheck to paycheck.” @HoustonISD food service workers find a plan to cut their hours hard to swallow.. Especially after their work to feed families amid the pandemic. Hear from this longtime employee ⤵️ and what HISD has to say: @KHOU at 4:30 + 6 #khou11

#RT @HISD_Assessment Principals …THIS is what admin team building looks like! Have you TRULY embraced your team or are you just hoping that they come together on their own despite their inherent differences? YOUR actions speak to the culture you are creating with your team.

So school leaders are prepping the schools for Mr. House’s visits next week. If they spent as much time and energy on instruction, they wouldn’t be worried about “looking good” they’d actually BE GOOD.

What incident is it going to have occur before the hostile work conditions, bullying and harassment that occur in many schools are catapulted to the forefront and taken seriously by SSOs, Area Supes, the District Supe, and the Board?

Let’s look @ the root cause. Campuses are festering w/ ethical violations by principals that go ignored. The teachers barely want to put up w/ the campus culture that allows for administrators to mistreat other administrators, teachers & even students and parents. Why not leave?

They should look into the overtime at some of our campuses. There is an abundance of unethical practices occurring by some campus principals. Spending tax payers money on people who sit around doing nothing after school or falsify time sheets to get pay not earned.

You can only be compensated as long as you are employed. Read your contracts thoroughly before signing. You are signing away rights that you had under your previous contract. All contracts are not created equal.

@HISD_Outreach @houstonisdwatch @JGSakaPapa @unicornhomies @stinkingflower Some TDS need to stay away from the campuses. They just bring drama with them. Seldom do the model. They always push you to the Master Course as if it’s the Holy Grail for HISD. Data will show you it’s not.

What this we hear? @law_wrs can UR teachers have their sacred planning time? @MrDerrickEstes U know their 45 mins is theirs. U can’t require that they give up their time 4 UR PLC. If U need PLC then make it happen on UR time, not theirs. Stop taking advantage of UR teachers.

@houstonisdwatch I’m curious 2 see which trustees voted for this. Our food workers vs. cutting the pay of our 6 figure salary SSOs? Some who do minimal with instruction during their meetings, instead they have updates about compliance issues that can be addressed in an email.

#RT @houstonisdwatch : Can @HoustonISD explain how there is no social promotion for students, yet we sit on interview committees and the committee’s choice isn’t hired, but the principal’s selection (friend) is? Isn’t that social promotion for adults?!

@DDavila1226 @Santos4HISD That’s the plan. Moral remains the same bc the same corrupt district level people that were here under the previous superintendent remain. M. House is taking steps N the right direction, but he can’t B everywhere & leaders put on shows when he comes 2 the campus. #Hypocrisy

I would like to get a pcr test before returning to school Monday. All HISD locations appointments are gone, big sites like Delmar and Minute Maid have no appointments until Monday or later.Pharmacies are booked as well. Trying to do the responsible think but out of ideas. Anyone?
