I've been writing about the city not having the ability to fight fires. I woke up to the news that more than 15 people died last night. We have 3 fire engines and the city just cancelled their last order of engines for what appears to be political reasons.

The City of Johannesburg says it does not fully meet the fire safety standards because it does not have sufficient firefighting vehicles.
