Happy to announce that Dr. Piyush Mishra, our 2010 batch BS-MS alumnus, has recently joined IIT Kharagpur as faculty member in Chemistry.
His academic trajectory landed him to Purdue for PhD in Chemistry, and then MIT & Ottawa for postdoctorates.

It was a pleasure to welcome the European Union delegation today at IISER Mohali. We explored together some exciting prospects for academic cooperation with the EU and its member states under Horizon Europe and ANR-like funding research agency.
Today IISER Mohali and Plaksha University, Mohali signed and MoU. The partnership will enable joint research activities, conferences and exchange of students and faculty in the areas of mutual interest.
For the first time, more than 30 of the BS-MS graduates also received a Minors degree in Data Science, Science Education, Science and Society Studies etc.

We mourn the passing of Prof. Ramesh Kapoor, our first Dean (Academics). Today, during a condolence meeting, he was affectionately recalled for his warm smile and heartfelt conversations.

A total of 218 students received their degrees in the convocation. Of these, 46 received PhD, 15 received MS, 151 received BS-MS dual degree and 6 students received their BS degree. Of the graduating batch 76 were women.
Today was special as we welcomed our new BS-MS students to the IISER Mohali family. We wish them the very best in their pursuit of knowledge and congratulate them and their parents on this exciting journey ahead!

Neetika Ahlawat is an evolutionary geneticist and Ph.D. scholar at
@IISERMohali
studying the coevolution between hosts and pathogens. She is also involved in a long-term insect host and bacterial pathogen study which is possibly the first of its kind.
After obtaining their respective degrees, they moved to different universities abroad (Univ. Michigan and Ohio State). A couple of years later they returned back to India with a new perspective in their subject areas (Molecular Biophysics and Number Theory).
