WOW, he has it all, Silent Whisper runs out an outstanding winner of the Boylesports Derby. The Maurice O'Connor trained runner gets a flying start and was always holding City Link, in 12.88. A clear three-length win for Silent Whisper.

Beautiful sunny morning here at Greenmount Park for the opening day of the 111th Irish Cup, sponsored for the first time by Dublin Coach. Action begins at 11.30am.
The BoyleSports derby for 2020 Whelps goes the way of Annual Fergie. In control early on, he pilled on the pressure throughout. Two Bears gave it everything but the winner was always doing enough. 13.03 on the clock. A top class winning performance.

Ballymac Sports bt Moonlight Mayhem in the Boylesports Derby final. Stunning early speed from the Ballymac runner who just held on as Moonlight Mayhem was just hitting top gear. A very short course. It's an unique double and a special treble for team Dowling. WOW.

And so concludes a most enjoyable Irish Cup meeting hosted by Co Limerick CC and also the 2022/23 coursing season. Where did those five months go ?. Huge thanks to Clubs all over the country for nurturing our sport in such a professional and caring way. Roll on Sept. Take care.
And so concludes the 2024 Irish Cup meeting and the coursing season. Wonderful hares here today and great work by all the hare husbandry teams since Sept. Our only wish now is that the hares get all the protection that they deserve during the closed season.
OH MY - THAT WAS UNREAL. Ballymac Zena bt Catunda Lauren is the course of the year. A bit of bumping early, Lauren half a length in front early, but the classy winner dug deep in the closing stages to win by about half a length. Crowd enjoyed that one.

The Champ has done it. Back to back successes for Watchman, a feat last accomplished in 1975 & 1976 by Lusty More. And a Derby & Irish Cup double in same season for Basil & Bernie Holian and trainer Kevin Barry.
Congratulations to the Newry Limerick Syndicate, and the maestro from Newry Brendan Matthews who is the succesful trainer & nominator. Is this his 8th Irish Cup ?.
The 2024 Una O'Sullivan Memorial Irish Cup goes to Gigantor for Paul Horig & Bridget Byrne and trainer Michael Murphy. A thriller to halfway before Gigantor pulled ahead for just over a length success from the most gallant Ballymac Zena.

The crowd enjoyed that one with Upper Hand getting the better of Gingerbread Man in the final of the Boylesports Derby. In front early, he was later headed but battling back in tremendous style, Upper Hand gets the verdict by a length or so.

Masonbrook Ger bt Ballymac Major. Early pace was key as the winner took control right away. Major was powering late on, but the winner ran on well to score. A fantastic performance.

Huge early pace from Please Abbie but it wasn't enough as Foxhollow Queen powers up the hill to win. A thrilling final with the winner getting the verdict by three or four lengths. A superb final of the Horse & Jockey Hotel Oaks.

Ballymaccallaway bt Up Tempo in the Horse & Jockey Hotel Oaks. Awesome performer as she pulls clear from the bottom of the hill. A top class Oaks winner as the crowd go wild here in Clonmel. 12.97 on the clock.

A fitting final to a great meeting. Your Dublin Coach Irish Cup winner 2023 is the pup Cool Spirit. Challenged all the way by Go Home Ourthat but was expected to finish the stronger and he did just that.
The Horse & Jockey Hotel Oaks for 2020 Whelps goes the way of Rushview Raven. A thriller in Powerstown Park. In front early, Rushview Raven had dig deep at the top of the field. Nothing between them late on. 13.11 on the clock. What a course.

The Horse & Jockey Hotel Oaks for 2019 Whelps goes the way of Ballymac Floral. In front early, the winner showed huge all round the pace to land the spoils in 13.13. Masonbrook Ivy could never get on terms. A wonderful winning performance.

She is a true Coursing Queen.. Silent Wonder a terrific winner of the Patsy Byrne Select Bitch Stake leading all the way. A gutsy run from Cobra Angel but can never get on terms and about 2L behind at turn. Huge cheering from the stands.

All the way for Foxhollow Lady who beats Elegant Dame in the final of the Horse & Jockey Hotel Oaks, in 13.18. A five-length leader early she held the runner-up all the way up the hill. More big race success for trainer Brendan Matthews.

Back in December at Old Kilcullen's new field Gigantor won the inaugural Una O'Sullivan Memorial Cup and now he adds the first Irish Cup run in memory of a much missed great coursing lady. A worthy winner and another big success for his sire Newinn Wonder and dam Laurina.

The Patsy Byrne Select Bitch Stake goes to Sir Mark Prescott & Ml Curly O'Donovan with Mon Petit. They have a great record at this meeting. Takes up the running from Zauberflute at halfway and moves on by a length for first turn. Nominated by Jonathan Coleman.
Ballymac Major bt Tree Top Tyson to win the final of the Classics Club & Callaway Kennels Kevin Smith Champion Stakes. Nip and tuck early on, the Ballymac runner shows his class on the hill to pull away and win easily, in 13.20. He loves the Powerstown hill.

Express Razor bt Aghadown Wonder. It was nip and tuck for most of the way, but Express Razor found plenty on the hill to get the verdict by about two lengths. The crowd enjoyed that one. 13.14 on the clock.

Magical Amelie bt Montpelier in the final of the Dublin Coach Kitty Butler Stakes. 13.14 on the clock. Nip and tuck early, the classy winner was strongest on the hill. A huge run to get the verdict by a length or so.

Apologies to connections of Our Ambition. The three days caught up on us. Yes indeed Our Ambition won the Patsy Byrne Select Bitch Stake but is of course owned by Sean Carr in Asdee, Co Kerry and is trained by Liam O'Callaghan in Macroom.
Mayfield an outstanding winner of the Stockproof Fencing Products T.A Morris Stakes. In front early, he powered up the hill to beat Spin The Whip, by a length and a half, in 13.37. Winning for trainer Jonathan Best.

The Kevin Smith Champion Stakes goes the way of Tree Top Danno. Massive early pace from the winner who was in cruise control early on. Faha Wonder came with a strong late run but the winner was always doing enough. A superb front running winning run in 13.12.

De Clinic Cure bt Magical Fionn in the final of the Stockproof Fencing Products T.A.Morris Stakes Final. They came together early and it was tight for most of the way, however, the winner was strong on top of the hill, in 13.49.

Can you believe it. Ballymac Zena has done it and ousted the fav Aristotle in a thriller. Nothing much in it for most of way but she just held the advantage and made Aristotle change sides at a vital moment. 12.36
Congratulations to the Fitzgibbon family, Newmarket and Millstreet Coursing Club. Lady Arabella takes up the running early and thankfully for connections she spots that the hare has veered to her right.
WOW - Crafty Perfecto comes from well of the pace to beat Seaside Lucy. Huge middle pace and strong on the hill to win. A classy performance once again.

Derby favourite Ballymac Sports beats Spartan King. The winner took a flyer and he kept on well to beat the running on runner up by a couple of lengths. WOW 12.51 on the clock. How good was that?
