City of Canandaigua voted to purchase a used fire boat from Hamburg Water Rescue. This is will be the first Fire boat on Canandaigua Lake and will be used for protecting boat houses, boats, boaters, and lake properties. Canandaigua Fire covers a substantial area on the lake.

At 11 this morning, two of the three soldiers killed last week in a helicopter crash in Mendon, NY, were transported from the Monroe County ME's office to Fort Drum. Canandaigua Truck 281 stood by at the Hook road bridge as they passed.

T-281 13:40 4875 Emerson rd Mutual Aid from Fishers 971 @IAFF_4907 for a grip hoist. A backhoe tractor slid down a hill into an above ground pool. The pool was damaged, was leaking water, and threatened the structure. Water was pumped off & the backhoe was stabilized & recovered.
