The @RochesterNYPD officer with the white hair - he's the one stabbed last week. 2 years ago Denny nominated his wife, Sonia, an RCSD teacher, for a Golden Apple. Sonia snuck me this video of Denny and other officers dancing with her students. Folks, this man is a saint. @News_8

My grandparents were enslaved by Nazi Germany. Some of my relatives were shot dead or burned alive. It's my job to listen to concerns about being ordered to wear a face covering when near others in public in order to combat #COVID19 , but, please, let's keep things in perspective.

Losing both our dogs this year was heartbreaking. Took a few months to hop back on the dog train, but here we are. We officially adopted Murphy yesterday. One day I hope he loves me half as much as his Kong.

Anyone in the Syracuse universe knows Tim Green. To me, he was Superman. Professional football player, lawyer, broadcaster, and novelist. He excelled in them all. AND he was dashing. And now he's handling this with grace. Superman had weaknesses too. Both are still superheroes.

We're told Conrad Button, the 12 year old who died in the Farmington house fire, had tried to rescue his grandmother. Can you even imagine the kind of adult he likely would have been? A monumental loss for his family and friends. And a societal loss for us. We lost a hero.

The cyclist who was hit and killed by a car today in Henrietta was a 13-year-old boy. Liam Ronan attended Burger Junior High. Liam was set to become a Renaissance Man - loved reading, volleyball and piano, though his interests seemed endless. His life, to our great loss, was not.

ZERO new COVID deaths reported in Monroe County from Thursday to Friday and ICU numbers are steady. This, halfway through Phase 2 of reopening. That said, 30 new confirmed cases so it’s still out there.
