It is with tremendous sadness that we inform you of the sudden passing of active 1212 member Firefighter Steven Rabak. Brother Rabak was involved in an accident off-duty. Please keep Steven and his family in your thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. May he RIP.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Retired Fire Captain Andy DeRoos.
Andy was a fighter and he battled until the very end, but sadly lost his fight last night when he passed away, surrounded by family.
We extend our sincere sympathy to his family.

Special Ops crews completed 14 days of live trench training. Real collapses, real forces, active soil conditions. It was muddy and exhausting work. They're now trained to the highest level for trench rescue. A great accomplishment by the crews & instructors.

Good stop by A shift early this morning at a two alarm house fire. Crews conducted an aggressive interior fire attack and contained the fire to the first floor and prevented it from spreading to other occupancies.
