I just made a hospital cleaner cry, because I thanked her for doing what she does, never receiving acknowledgement from anyone. I’ve known her for over 40 years, a single mother, always struggling, holding down 2/3 jobs at a time. No one sees her, the pride she takes in her work.

@Bridget_OShea I don’t think anyone ever recovers from ME, we just move up and down levels depending on where we’re able to establish our baseline. We stay within those levels if we maintain inertia for as long as we can. The most trivial stress or exertion can push us up a level or more.

This is my favourite picture of myself, taken on my balcony when I lived on Colley Terrace In Glenelg where I bought two cartons of eggs and only cooked two a week to eat because the others were all used to wage a clandestine war against anyone behaving badly, walking below.
