In light of the bank holiday we have issued a statement 👇
Please don't visit Hayling Island at the moment - we know it's a really lovely place and we'd normally welcome visitors with open arms but now's not the right time to take a trip to the beach or its other attractions.
We are aiming to eradicate homelessness in the borough by agreeing to support the refurbishment of Brent House, Middle Park Way, Leigh Park.
A grant awarded to
@TwoSaintstoday
will enable the currently unoccupied building, to be renovated.

During the lockdown, we are asking residents to refrain from undertaking noisy DIY work or listening to loud music. 🔇

Our Norse South East bin collection crews have appreciated all the kind messages they’ve been getting from residents.
They are continuing to provide a full service and are working hard to keep this up during the coronavirus outbreak.
Due to the season 200 bags of leaves are being collected everyday across the borough. In addition, 21 sq miles of the borough is litter picked, 12 recreation grounds are monitored and 3.5k litter bins emptied.

We have been working with

Nellie can be found close to the skate park on Hayling seafront and is here to help us tackle beach litter and single use plastic.
Whale, that's an awkward place to leave an inflatable... But, where there's a whale, there's a way!
Can any of our followers help
@HantsPolRoads
reunite this 'whaley' lost inflatable with its owner? 🐳
Well we’ve had some interesting debris jobs reported on the motorway in the past......but never an inflatable killer whale 🐳 in lane 2!!!! So if you’re missing one from Fareham M27 “Kevin” the killer whale is now safe and sound at Havant Police Station

This week is
#FoodWasteActionWeek
and a great opportunity to take stock of what you buy and how much you actually use!
One positive of lockdown has been that less food has been wasted, but there is still work to do.
@LFHW_UK
has great tips:
Unfortunately we have once again seen an increase in the number of disposable face coverings being dropped as litter. This bad for the environment, and puts those who litter pick at risk.
Please continue to wear face coverings. Please also ensure you dispose of them properly.
Being a councillor can fit into your lifestyle and be a very rewarding thing to do.

We're not lovin' the litter around the Waterlooville
@McDonaldsUK
.
The junction of Silverthorne Way and Elettra Avenue, at the dead end, is particularly bad even though the litter bin provided is emptied daily and as well as litter picking.
Please dispose of litter responsibly.
Another step forward in the plan to breathe new life into Waterlooville. Eight new independent businesses have been awarded a share of £140,000 to support them in coming to the town centre.
Our water bottles "for life" are being being packed & ready to be dispatched to local primary schools in time for the new school year. Our water bottles are designed to last a child's entire early school years with replacement lids if required.

Today we will be taking part in the national minute's silence to commemorate the health, care and frontline workers lost during the coronavirus pandemic.
