If Nemesis was at BPB, it’d be running 1 train today, the eye would be switched off because “it’s not dark enough” and all the fog effects would’ve been removed after launch day.
This is getting past a joke now. I’m beyond fucked off. Whether or not it’s Thorpe’s fault, I’m still allowed to be annoyed after travelling 5 hours TWICE in the past month.
“hYpErIa Is NeW, iTs BoUnD tO hAvE tEeThInG pRoBlEmS.” 🤓☝️
Shut up.
OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD. Every effect was working! And yes, the trough fire is back!!! When it’s running like that it’s the best water ride in the world!!! 😍🔥
Hyperia will be the first Mack coaster to use the next gen 2x2 trains. The seats and restraints are the same but the seat chassis and back covers are beefier, grip tape flooring and updated road wheels.

Valhalla is in the worst state it’s been since reopening. No hammers, no log, no fire arrows, no external fog and worst of all, no fire.
Come on
@Pleasure_Beach
, you’re embarrassing yourself’s.
@MandsThompson
How come Hyperia’s had its end cap removed? Have they taken it off both trains? I took the second pic of opening day.

I was hoping Big One would’ve been running 2 trains for its 30th birthday. I was gonna try and get 30 rides in. I really wish you cared about guest experience
@Pleasure_Beach
@MandsThompson
. People don’t want to wait in queues that don’t move because of the lack of trains.
I imported my Hyperia recreation into my BPB recreation to see how it’d look. Obviously Hyperia wouldn’t fit but PB could certainly build a ride of this scale. If they removed Avalanche it’d make it even easier.
Lightning Rod began testing with its new chain lift the other day.
Note that it’ll most likely go quicker than this when it reopens. It’s still in its early stages of testing.

The fact that there’s people that come to Florida for 2-3 weeks and don’t leave Disney world is insane to me. I get it if you have really young kids, but imagine missing out on Universal? Especially IoA!
I managed to film a launch overshoot on Red Force. Look how quick it flies over the tophat!
This is a regular procedure for testing LSM launch coasters. I’ve witnessed Icon do it too.
Makes me laugh how Pleasure Beach is being ran into the ground yet people still treat the people running it as if they’re saints.
It’s even worse when they claim to love the industry, yet they operate their park as if it’s part of the Happy Valley chain.
Hyperia’s opening day was genuinely one of, if not the best day I’ve ever had at a theme park! Hyperia is absolutely phenomenal and it’ll take a lot to beat it as the best coaster in the country!
@THORPEPARK
&
@mackridescom
have really hit it out of the park with this one!
1/2 People complaining saying they wish Hyperia was a B&M but you’ve got to remember that they are almost always trimmed to death.
I love B&M hypers but they’re not the limit pushing, intense coasters that the UK desperately needs.
After what felt like an eternity, we finally got a train reveal for Hyperia
@THORPEPARK
! Meaning I could finally make a poster to go in the Thorpe collection!
1/2
@Pleasure_Beach
is operated like those crap Chinese Happy Valley parks. I’m actually embarrassed for them.
You’ve got an owner who doesn’t show any interest, marketing who can’t make their minds up and the management are just a bunch of yes-men.
Not seen anyone point this out yet but I noticed a few of Inferno’s supports have been painted white. Is this a tease for the next phase of the sparkle project? 🤔
@THORPEPARK
Had to take the stairs to the top floor of the Premier Inn I’m staying in as the queue for the lift was too long. I’m glad I did because I noticed you can see Hyperia in the distance from the stairs!
Just saw 2 family’s turn away when they realised how much it is to enter BPB for the afternoon. You need to cater to passing trade more
@Pleasure_Beach
@MandsThompson
, you’re not Alton Towers that’s in the middle of nowhere where there’s no passing trade.
Although I’m glad Thorpe is being transparent. It was a bit irresponsible to give an estimated reopening date in the first place. Even if it was originally on track for the 8th, they should’ve just kept quiet to not give people false hope.
I guarantee people will think Hyperia won’t have a zero car because they’ll remove it for testing. It happened with Icon and it’ll happen again. The amount of veteran thoosies that mistook Icon’s zero chassis for the shell was alarming. 😅
They had to stop Icon for 20 mins because a bird got ran over and stuck under the train. The technicians were pointing a torch down there to have a look. If only there was something already underneath the trains to help them see…
Looks like the automatic storage carbonates have been installed on Hyperia. Pretty sure they come standard with all Mack coasters but here’s an example of the ones on Icon.
Big One’s helix has had some of the crossties painted, which in the past has indicated that welding has taken place and a retrack is imminent. I really hope this part is next because it’s absolutely brutal! 😅
Just saw another family walk up to the entrance thinking the park was open. Goes to show people are willing to go in even at this time. You know if your park succeeds, so will the shows and entertainment?
@MandsThompson
It’s sad to see all these BPB art books thrown all over maintenance area of the carpark. These could’ve been sold in the shop, and I’m sure a lot of PB fans would’ve purchased a copy. Makes you wonder what else of value they throw out.
Can we all agree how well Icon has aged? It still runs amazingly even when the trains aren’t fully warmed up.
It might be as good aesthetically as it was back in 2018 but it definitely rides a lot better.
Thorpe Park started testing their rides roughly a month and a half before opening. Pleasure Beach only started testing properly last week (and only until 2pm each day).
@Pleasure_Beach
@MandsThompson
@AndyHygate
you need to get your priorities straight.
📍 Sweden 🇸🇪
Gorgeous evening view from the Liseberg amusement park in Sweden. 🎢
Liseberg Amusement Park is also a true symbol of love, as it was built in 1923 by merchant Lamberth for his terminally ill wife Lisa. He transformed the former pastureland into a real garden with
This ride is seriously wasted on this park. Imagine Icon at a Scandinavian park that opens until stupid o’clock every night?
I have hope that one day, BPB is taken over by someone who just gets it.
Hyperia is absolutely flawless but there is one minor thing I’d change/add. When the train hits the brakes it rolls very slowly into the station. Some kicker wheels would solve that issue. It’d make the throughputs even faster than they already are!
Me watching Hot Ice last year seeing all of the expensive effects and lighting working perfectly. When Valhalla’s effects never work and Icon has a flickering headlight.
It’s hard to tell under the wrapping but it looks like Hyperia has grip tape flooring similar to Starfall and the Xtreme Spinners. Should be a lot less slippy than Icon’s on a rainy day.
