As a member of the RNC, I would support a rules amendment that requires a candidate to participate in all RNC-sanctioned debates to be eligible for nomination at the 2024 convention.
We are officially at capacity for Monday’s reception here on St. Thomas with presidential candidate Governor Ron DeSantis. This is our first event with a 2024 presidential candidate.
Nikki Haley just finished speaking to the Virgin Islands Republican State Committee. She committed to earning our votes in the February 8 caucus. It was refreshing to hear her talk about Chinese influence in the Caribbean. Thanks for joining us, Nikki.

Polls in the third-in-the-nation Virgin Islands caucus are now open on St Croix at the Le Reine Chicken Shack and on St Thomas at Bluebeard’s Castle. They close at 6 pm. On St John, voting at the Lovango Rum Bar is 10 am to 4 pm.
In 2016, I called out

Instead of a meaningless loyalty pledge the RNC should require a candidate to participate in all party-sanctioned debates to be eligible for nomination at the convention in Milwaukee.
Given the large field of presidential candidates, I encourage my fellow Republican state party chairmen to support ranked-choice voting in the primaries and caucuses. A presidential nominee supported by a majority—not a plurality!—of voters is best-positioned to win in Nov 2024.
Nikki Haley on the Virgin Islands: "Equal voices. The goal is to represent everyone and to serve everyone. And it's making sure that everyone feels like they are equal in every aspect of our government."
Big win here for minority parties in one-party states.
Our territorial Legislature—as well as territory-wide boards—have never been reapportioned, despite Baker v Carr and Reynolds v Sims. It is grossly malapportioned.

CONFIRMED — Tomorrow morning, Nikki Haley will campaign in the Virgin Islands. She will speak during a Republican State Committee meeting.
The Virgin Islands caucus on Feb. 8 is the third-overall 2024 Republican primary or caucus.

We are using ranked-choice voting in the 2024 Virgin Islands caucus. Ranked-choice makes sense in primaries or caucuses with a big field of candidates.
Why ranked-choice voting is a win for Republicans
Johann Clendenin, a sixth generation Crucian, hosting event with Nikki Haley. Standing room-only at The Buccaneer. She committed to appointing conservative Republicans to federal positions here and energy independence, starting with the Biden-closed refinery. Caucus is Thursday.
Mark your calendar: The 2024 Virgin Islands caucus has been officially scheduled for February 8, 2024. That makes the Virgin Islands the nation’s third GOP contest in 2024.

Last night’s

is why we're using ranked-choice voting in the 2024 Virgin Islands caucus. Voters shouldn't worry about a wasted vote. Ranked-choice creates a level playing field for every candidate. It gives us a consensus candidate supported by a majority of the party.

I called her out back in 2016 but she kept taking his money. She was also the lawyer for the authority that gave Epstein his tax incentives.

The Virgin Islands will go ahead with the caucus on February 8. It is unfortunate other Republicans want to deny their voters the opportunity to be heard and cast a vote. Regardless of who you support, there is a process that must be followed.
There are a lot of things that are fair game to go after Biden. As a member of the RNC I’m disappointed in this X post by RNC staff insinuating that the Virgin Islands — an American territory — isn’t part of the United States.
While Old Glory flies over our islands, we are subjected to one-party Democrat rule. The Democrats have done everything to keep our party from organizing a political opposition. We’re grateful for the continued partnership of the RNC under

Are we not supposed to have primaries and caucuses? Or a national convention? As a member of the RNC, I will not allow this to happen.
“If Republicans simply used ranked-choice voting in presidential primaries, everybody would win. No one would be forced to get out of the race before a single voter has cast an actual ballot.”
As Republicans in the U.S. Virgin Islands, we're doing everything we can to push our community –– our family and friends in Florida –– to reelect Governor Ron DeSantis this November.
Looking forward to Ron DeSantis, as the recently reelected governor of the electorally most important state in the country, running for president in 2024.
GOP Rep. John Rutherford, who did not support Jim Jordan in today’s floor vote, issues statement calling for “consensus” speaker candidate and says “it’s time for Rep. Jordan to understand this race is over.”
Just a reminder that the 2024 Republican nomination for president won’t be decided by Iowa and New Hampshire. This is a national campaign. All 56 states and territories, including our island communities, have a say in their own primaries, caucuses and conventions.
It was great to have Virgin Islands state Sen. Alma Francis Heyliger join us earlier today at the reception with 2024 presidential candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Preferential voting (aka ranked-choice voting) worked in Virginia with Glenn Youngkin. It will work here in the Virgin Islands.
We haven’t selected a date yet, but our rules allow for the 2024 caucus to be held anytime after Nevada and before March 2.
I look forward to welcoming Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo to the Virgin Islands. He is appearing in support of Gov. Ron DeSantis at receptions on St. Thomas (Dec. 17) and St. Croix (Dec. 18). Congressman Byron Donalds is also appearing on behalf of President Donald Trump.
In the Virgin Islands, we use run-offs. You can’t have a run-off in a presidential caucus. Our Feb 8 caucus with preferential or ranked-choice voting — an instant run-off — makes sense. Our 2024 GOP nominee must have support from a majority of the party.
Vivek Ramaswamy has filed and qualified for the ballot in the 2024 Virgin Islands caucus. We look forward to welcoming him to our islands. Our unique issues will be elevated onto the national stage as Vivek and others campaign for the votes of Virgin Islanders.
Republicans are the party of federalism and the Tenth Amendment. Arizona’s committeeman should stop forcing his fake news resolutions and grifter agenda onto every state party. We will still use ranked-choice voting. It will allow us as a party to unify around one candidate.
Happy to share that our Election Defense Resolution entitled “A Return to Excellence” has passed committee. This resolution codifies Election Integrity Reports & gives specific direction to Republican officeholders. It will go before the full RNC body tomorrow.

We are officially at capacity for Monday’s reception here on St. Thomas with presidential candidate Governor Ron DeSantis. This is our first event with a 2024 presidential candidate.

Our Virgin Islands Republican State Committee meeting is underway. Dr. Ben Carson is campaigning for former President Trump. He says he last visited out islands in August with his wife.
It was great welcoming Ambassador Nikki Haley’s personal representative, Congressman Ralph Norman, to St Thomas last night. I introduced him to Randy Knight, who was Governor Mapp’s chief of staff.

"And yet the next chance for Donald Trump and Nikki Haley to scoop up delegates will not come in any of those places, but somewhere that won’t even get to vote in the November presidential election: the U.S. Virgin Islands."
“Nikki Haley spoke with Republican voters in the Virgin Islands on Monday trying to earn their vote in the upcoming Republican presidential caucus on Thursday.”
“I’m going to try to get down to you all at the end of January or early February. We are going to make that effort before you vote on February 8. Given you are using ranked-choice voting, you’ve made some news just doing that.”
Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina has filed and qualified for the ballot in the 2024 Virgin Islands caucus. I look forward to seeing him campaign here in the islands.
Getting ready for tonight’s holiday reception here on St. Thomas with Virgin Islands Senator Alma Francis Heyliger, Congressman Byron Donalds representing Trump, Congressman Ralph Norman representing Haley, and Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo representing DeSantis.
The 2024 Virgin Islands caucus will use ranked-choice voting. Our party's executive committee voted unanimously for it. It allows caucus voters to support the strongest consensus conservative for president.
The 2024 campaign has reached the Virgin Islands.
This morning, Nikki Haley is stumping for our votes.
Donald Trump is sending Congressman Wesley Hunt to St. Thomas on Friday and St. Croix on Saturday.
The Virgin Islands caucus is February 8.
“The Virgin Island caucus will also matter because almost all the major competitors have already qualified for the ballot. Trump, DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy and Tim Scott are committed … with many either planning … to hold events there.”
“The dueling appearances by top surrogates of DeSantis and Trump come ahead of the Virgin Islands Republican caucus on Feb. 8. The caucus has the distinction of being the third-overall Republican presidential primary or caucus.”

Stop attacking the territories. Your fellow Americans in the territories are NOT a boogeyman. 3 of the 5 congressmen from the territories are Republican! Our convention delegates also count equally.
— Gordon, an RNC member from the territories
I've spent a lot of time in the USVI. Where did they find 250 Republicans? If past experience is any guide, at least some of them weren't really residents.
Stacey Plaskett is lying about Jeffrey Epstein. She knew back in 2016 that he was one of her top donors.

The Democrat Party controls Congress and the White House, but has done NOTHING to affirm the equal citizenship of Americans in the territories. Only Republicans—thanks to
@JevonWilliamsVI
’s resolution adopted by the RNC in 2017—have taken this position.
Americans in the territories shouldn’t be political punching bags. Three of the five territories have Republican members of Congress. The official Republican Party position is equal citizenship for all Americans and statehood if Puerto Rico chooses it.
A reminder from an RNC member:
Under rule 40(b),Youngkin would only need a plurality of delegates in 5 states to sign a certificate 1 hour before the nomination vote at the convention.
The Glenn Youngkin path for a late Presidential run:
1. DeSantis imploding
2. Win both VA State Senate and House of Delegates in November
3. Hope Trump’s legal troubles drag him down
The first and easiest step happened
Other 2 still up in the air
Trump addressed the Virgin Islands as we vote today in the third-overall Republican primary or caucus.
“Your chair, Gordon Ackley. It’s been a long time since I have seen Gordon, but he’s a total winner.”
“What you can do is go out and caucus.”
@WilsonWPA
Stop using Puerto Rico or any of the other territories as a big, bad boogeyman. The official Republican position is statehood if the territory wants it. We are fellow Americans, who, by the way, fully and equally participate in the primaries and caucuses. cc:
@GOP_PR51
“The caucuses in the Virgin Islands — one of which will be at a beachside rum bar on the island of St. John — will also close hours before the caucuses conclude in Nevada.”
The Virgin Islands was capably represented at the Republican National Committee's spring meeting in Memphis earlier this week. I couldn't attend as I am sick with covid.
Yesterday’s caucus and the Election Night Party were epic moments for the Virgin Islands. John Yob and April Newland are our new RNC members. The new State Committee members are Alex Bonthron, Chip Engelhard, Krystal Flores, Vanessa Mull Coffen, David Weisher and Mark Zion.
As an RNC member and automatic convention delegate, I would sign the paperwork under rule 40(b) for a late entrant to be eligible for nomination at the convention. Under that rule, a candidate needs a plurality of delegates from 5 or more states in order to be eligible.
Amid ongoing speculation / hope from some donors that VA’s Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin will launch last min presidential bid if he wins his state leg races in November, VAGOP Chairman says Youngkin “isn't focused on federal filing deadlines & isn't in NH, IA, or SC.” ⬇️
“Our islands deserve better than the failed ideas and programs that the ruling party recycles year after year. It’s time to say enough is enough.”

Republicans on every island in the Virgin Islands sent a loud and clear message that they want a real Republican Party. We are moving forward and rebuilding the party after virtual extinction over the past 10 years.
“The Virgin Islands are typically not a key player in nominating presidential candidates but in this year’s Republican primary, the territory is in the spotlight.”

Like most Virgin Islanders, our party stands on the side of life. Today’s Supreme Court decision should form the basis for the people—not a handful of senators in our malapportioned territorial Legislature—deciding the abortion question in a referendum at the ballot box.
