In celebration of the new Marvel collection and because of this unbearable heat, I added a little accessory to my room fan. It's now a Hyper Viper Fan.
Here I put together over 90 "Fight" logos from various fighting games. It's worth noting only games with "Fight" are here as many fighting games use another phrase (Go! being the second most common).
A card for that special someone who also happens to like Street Fighter. I edited a back sprite of Zangief to get a good overlay. "I Love Spinning Time With You"
So I made this Birthday greeting card featuring the famous Ryu and Cyclops handshake. As you open the card they slide into place to grasp hands. The inside reads: "As a great man once said, "dreams don't die!", but eventually you will. Have a happy birthday!"
A really rough test I did in making another Mortal Kombat card. When you open it Cyrax spins around as if Kabal ran past him. Gonna experiment more on these animated cards.
Let's talk about character select screen music. The songs that get you pumped for the impending match...choose that character wisely. Which fighting game had your favorite select screen music?
Before I put my jar of spaghetti away I decided to go all in. Paul Phoenix, Benimaru, Edge, and Polnareff (yes I know his hair should be silver). Spaghetti crew stand up!
A small detail that some may already know about in Street Fighter Alpha 2, but on the Metro City stage if a women character walks into the corner past Cody he'll get caught stealing a glance and Jessica will smack him.
Let's talk about fighting game versus screens. Whether looking cool or getting you hyped for the matchup, it's seen a lot of variations over the years. Are there any unique or great versus screens from a fighting game that stand out to you?
In Street Fighter Alpha 2 on Ken's stage (among the many other easter eggs and cameos), Eliza will follow and adore Ken in the match. But if he's not present Eliza could care less about the fight.
Taekwon-Do for the SNES. A fighting game with plane movement, stance changes, feints, stumble/balance system, and point rules....much of which goes out the window on the last boss. The next FAQ I'm working on.
I made another animated Mortal Kombat greeting card. For that special someone who still gets on your nerves sometimes. It says, "You're A Pain In The Neck, But I Still Love You".
We finally solved the mystery of T. Hawk's infamous stray hurtbox. In this hard to capture moment, we see T. Hawk's spirit temporarily leave his body...
The Japanese version of Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 has a different Continue screen where the character portraits are beat up/bloodied (a la Street Fighter 2). Here are how each of them look:
Here is over 550 (!) projectiles from various fighting games in the shape of a fireball. I've been working on this on and off for a month. Twitter will probably ruin the quality so pick up the PNG here:
