We are excited to announce our new head coach for Orono girls hockey. Coach Larry Olimb. Coach Olimb is a former Minnesota gopher hockey player with the record for the most assists. We are thrilled to have him on board
We need to give a shout out to Grace Bickett that has spent the season healing an injury. Although we’ve missed her amazing defensive skills and wicked shot…she has proven herself a great leader as our unofficial assistant coach. Looking forward to Grace getting back on the ice!
Our own Macy Rasmussen has been selected to play at the USA hockey girls 15 national player development camp. Way to make it through all the tryouts… We are so proud of you!

It’s been a great day for Orono Girls hockey and our very own Iyla Ryskamp. She was awarded the Herb Brooks Award and named to the State All Tournament Team!

Sydney DeCubellis was recently awarded the Athena Award by the Minneapolis Athena Awards Committee. They recognize outstanding senior female athletes. Sydney has 11 varsity letters, 6 years playing softball and 5 for hockey. Congratulations Sydney!

Yesterday, four women's hockey players for Gustavus were in a car crash, and Jori Jones tragically passed away. Our deepest condolences go out to Jones' family and the Roseville & Gustavus hockey communities. We also ask everyone to keep those who were injured in their thoughts.

Ladies and gentlemen. Despite the disappointing outcome, it has been a great season for your Spartans. Our graduating Seniors Molly Martini, Sydney DeCubellis, and Anna Lisle can lift their heads high knowing that they did their team and school proud.
Unfortunately, we did not get the result that we hoped for, but OGH wants to send out some love and respect to our Seniors Celia Whittington, Gabby Norris, and Jillian Cook. It’s been a great season and a great career. We’ll miss you next year.

We are excited to welcome Mackenzie as our new JV Head Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach. She graduated from Orono High School in 2011 and was captain of the Orono Girls Hockey team in Mackenzie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
OGH wrapped up their season this morning with their End of Season Banquet. We celebrated many memories, our OGH history making Section 5A 2nd place finish to the State Champs and said a HUGE thank you our seniors and coaching staff. We are looking forward to the 2018-2019 season!
Congratulations Coach Claire! The support, knowledge, guidance, and contributions you make to this team is undeniable. You are not only an amazing coach, but incredible person and role model! Congrats on this much deserved award!
