One of the sharpest intellects in the House. Hardworking and principled. I only wish she could be persuaded to stand in the next General Election, Parliament will be a poorer place without her.
@PeterStefanovi2
@ChirpyChet
Brilliant Peter. We have an out of control rogue Government with an 80 seat majority and we're hurtling towards totalitarianism. Stand together now or lose any semblance of democracy.
@carolvorders
@fionahtweet
@GoodLawProject
The Good Law Project is doing an amazing job of holding this corrupt Government to account. Therefore, It follows that it would become a target.

State pension isn't a benefit, we've paid for it throughout our working lives.
I wouldn't mind scrutinising the bank accounts and offshore investments of a few Tory MPs. Let's start with Rees-Mogg.
@salslovespink
@ukreloaded
What a silly judgmental individual you are. Angela Rayner rose to the top because she's an intelligent, perceptive, hardworking woman. The uber privileged Johnson, Rees-Mogg, Sunak and their dubious mates got there because their parents were wealthy and privileged.
@martinimarie
@dodgson_sally
I had to get my husband to bring a blanket and a pillow as the ward had run out. Food inedible and dangerously luke warm. Nursing care generally good considering how short staffed they were. The Tories have killed the NHS.
@alisonpearsonSW
The Telegraph doesn't appear to understand that people like me paid tax precisely so that people like your lovely daughter could have the care and support they deserve. What I did not pay for, was to line the pockets of wealthy tax avoiders and Tory Party donors.
@danielgoyal
Too many voters were taken in by the public school education and a posh accent. We have a Government of corrupt liars who are selling off vital public services in order to line their own pockets with gold. The Tories despise ordinary people.
@LanaCarrte
@JillPoguelover
An Education Secretary who hasn't the slightest interest in the welfare of children in State schools. What is this woman actually for?
@JRLOakley
Right, you were useless at your job, didn't bother turning up to the HoC to vote, failed to serve your constituents, wrote embarrassing novels, acted like a lovesick teenager around Johnson, made unfounded comments about the Privileges Committee. There's your explanation, now go.
@Haggis_UK
I haven't been impressed by a Tory for many years, but Laura was superb today and Harriet Harman was moved to tears by this very well deserved tribute👏👏👏
@ByDonkeys
@danielgoyal
"I can't recall" isn't an acceptable excuse for anyone in a position of authority - whatever their job. The Government's collective amnesia should no longer be a get out of jail free card. It's a lie.
@danielgoyal
The companies that could have provided safe PPE were deliberately overlooked. The VIP lane was the preferred choice - I doubt if this was a simple mistake. Some people saw covid as an opportunity to make money.
@MichaelRosenYes
I couldn't agree more. What's happening now is just rubbing salt into the wounds of those who lost family and friends and those who were seriously ill in ICU, fighting for their lives.
@LGalloway77
@RuthE4308
Shredding evidence is perverting the course of justice and carries a custodial sentence. Why is Johnson immune from prosecution?
@GyllKing
@ActualDavidF
Plenty of clear images of these thugs, I'm hoping for some heavy sentences. The good people of Southport are mourning the loss of three little girls fgs.
@LordRennard
It was very clear that he lied to Parliament and lied to the Committee. Throwing mud at Harriet Harman and the rest of the Committee won't work. Johnson's lack of shame and lack of dignity is sickening, the country's had enough.
@dave43law
He should be forced to do his job, just like those people who are sick with cancer, MND, MS, heart failure, long covid and many other disabling conditions are forced into work after failing to pass welfare assessment for sickness benefits.
@Haggis_UK
@RhonddaBryant
Well done Chris Bryant, excellent question delivered with just the right amount of anger. Sunak sneered his way through his non answer. Pathetic, weak leader.
@Taj_Ali1
@Ravidranting
Is it any wonder that doctors are leaving the NHS in droves? Outgoings far exceed income, add to that the stress, sheer exhaustion and the terror of making a wrong call, it's a miracle you don't all walk out.
@danielgoyal
Braverman knows that she can't ban tents or prevent charities from giving them out. This is just another rant to appeal to those on the far right of the Tory Party. By tomorrow she'll be ranting that the lefty lawyers won't let her leave homeless people to freeze. Divide and rule
@FarmersWeekly
@Lynn_GT
If only the UK could trade with somewhere nearer, somewhere that cared about the environment, food safety and animal welfare. We could try Europe.
@implausibleblog
@LIZSIMM45341967
He didn't see, he doesn't remember, he wasn't there.....Are all Tories suffering from collective amnesia? It's a miracle that any of them can remember how to lie, cheat and fill their pockets with public money.
@BillMat12
@JackieMayes5
@danielgoyal
The impartiality of Civil Servants is precisely what the likes of Raab and Braverman fight against, hence the outrageous bullying.
@dave43law
A vicious sadistic Home Secretary, a weak Prime Minister, a wrecked economy, and a healthcare system all but destroyed. Are we seriously expected to tolerate another year of this?
@g_gosden
@JohnClerkin9
What a nasty piece of work he turned out to be. Like no Catholic I've ever known. Why do so many hardliner Tories pretend to be Christians?
@dave43law
This would have been a resigning matter pre 2019. When Johnson lied his way into the top job his toxic behaviour was the signal for the rest of the Tories to ride roughshod over the code of conduct.
@johnsweeneyroar
@danielgoyal
At last! I've been screaming at the Inquiry since Johnson made the claim. What's App messages were actively deleted, they don't delete themselves. What's App should have a representative at the Inquiry.
@implausibleblog
@MooreRosemary
If this is true then it can't be just something else to be swept under the carpet. Deliberately putting lives at risks - childrens' lives at that - is right up there with the most despicable, callous acts visited on this country by the Tories.
@PhilipProudfoot
@doctort50
Presumably the taxpayers are getting the bill for this? Why is Hoyle suddenly feeling the need to raise his profile? GB News was a step too far, now he rocks up in Israel. The Speaker is supposed to be neutral.
@danielgoyal
The public is sleepwalking into privatised healthcare. Most people have no idea what's about to hit them. The Tories sold us brexit and they'll use the same tactics before selling off the NHS. The public needs to wake up. Once it's gone they'll be no going back.
@BladeoftheS
@cuibono2016
As far as the law's concerned, politicians are ordinary citizens and liable to the same penalties. He must be charged, prosecuted and, if guilty, imprisoned. He won't be.
@danielgoyal
Why did the Government refuse or ignore offers of PPE from legitimate, competent providers? Why weren't Government procurement rules followed?
@Michael15688963
A Prime Minister threatenening the House of Lords. This little fascist needs to be put in his place. If the Rwanda Bill is the will of the people, he can have no objection to putting it to the public vote and calling a General Election.
@ShihabSJoi
@AdamBienkov
You can't just walk into a food bank and take whatever you want day in day out, that's not how it works. Also, does 30p think that underpaid, disabled or unwaged people should live on bread and scrape? A happy meal, ice-cream or bar of chocolate for the kids is perfectly fine.
@alanhughes11
We are facing the greatest threat to democracy since WWII. Vote Labour and vote tactically where necessary, in fact, do anything you can to get the Tories out.
@ShaunLintern
@PeterDilworth1
@TheBMA
My daughter's a GP, sees more patients than ever, works late most nights in order to catch up on paperwork, doesn't earn anything like the sums quoted in the press and is constantly vilified in the likes of the Daily Mail. To say she's hacked off is putting it mildly.
@BladeoftheS
How can he claim to be a devout Catholic when he does so much harm to those who are less fortunate than himself? Tax supports the NHS, social care, welfare benefits and every single public service in the UK.
@danielgoyal
This is precisely why we need proportional representation. Green membership is increasing rapidly, but this won't be reflected in our undemocratic voting system.
@MarinaPurkiss
@Ravidranting
No, Norfolk is not ok. They'll vote for anything wearing a blue rosette around these parts. Norfolk's true blue brexiteer country. I do my best!
@ErdmuteD
@danielgoyal
Regulations were put in place for a reason. Scrapping them is a threat to health. If only we had a Government more interested in following the science and less interested in following the money.
@danielgoyal
Johnson got absolutely nothing right. The country isn't suffering from collective amnesia, we remember what this man did, none more so than the families of those who died unnecessarily.
@andreajenkyns
That's an appalling thing to say. Teachers are seriously overworked and underpaid and you believe it's appropriate to suggest strikes are designed to give them an extra holiday. You need to take a long hard look at the work ethic of Tory MPs.
@jonie1303
@RhonddaBryant
Yes, it has to be. Dennis Skinner, a proper working class Labour MP, with a sharp wit and some of the best put-downs I've ever heard in the House. I miss him.
@AdamBienkov
@AlexVerity3
An extremely arrogant woman who believes that the rules don't apply to her. Her rudeness to Lindsay Hoyle was breathtaking and it's one of the few times I've seen him slap an MP down hard.
A lack of integrity and a failure to understand the concept of public service. A Tory.
@BeckettUnite
@mattyfeb1987
He's coming under significant pressure to remove cap on child benefits. No move movement on bankers' bonuses. I left the Labour Party when it became the party of business.

Do Braverman and Jenrick ever get anything right? This is our hard-earned money they're throwing away on one mad scheme after another. I can't think of a single profession where this pair would still be allowed to keep their jobs.
@dave43law
How bloody dare they. Most of the Tories haven't been turning up for work for months anyway. Run out of steam? Try working for a pittance in a supermarket, a hospital, a school, a factory, then they'll know what real work is.

@JuliaHB1

If you're elevated to the House of Lords, the public has every right to know exactly who you are. We pay for you and you work for us.
@ArgyleLoz
@janforindy2
Agree. No Government in British history has come even close to the corruption, lies and theft of public money as the one we have now. Don't give me the 'Labour would be no better' rubbish.
@CB750Nighthawk
@CarolineLucas
Just read through some of your comments. You need to stop reading the Daily Mail, Express and Sun, stop watching GBNews and take a good look at what's happening all around you. 14 years of the Tories and Caroline Lucas is to blame.
@SherwoodJam
People will be forced to get emergency medication from already stretched A&E departments - that or suffer serious illness, strokes, heart attacks, seizures..... A disaster for the NHS and for those unfortunate enough to be victims of these vicious policies.
@danielgoyal
Genocide was Netanyahu's goal from day one. The international community is standing by and watching it happen. I don't know how we can ever live with ourselves after this.
@The_DogWalker
@NoToDuckMitts
You have allies, people who genuinely care. Decent people see straight through Braverman's lies. Racists are not the brightest of individuals, but make a lot of noise. Take care.
@kt__hutchinson
Absolutely support all striking doctors. £15 pounds an hour is nowhere near enough. Junior doctors are fully qualified and work long hours, often in atrocious conditions, to keep the NHS going.
@SundPamela
@MarxistBunch
@SAvrakhova
Every human being deserves protection Pamela. Netanyahu's response has been wholly disproportionate and very many Jewish people are out there on the streets protesting against what looks more and more like genocide. I do not condone the actions of Hamas by the way.
