@fesshole If you're all happy with the arrangement, that's cool. Maybe tell your partner that you know (and that you are okay with it)? It could take a lot of stress out of her life. Also, maybe start your own Scalextric collection? Might be a good way to bond with him.

The tweet below and responses contain mean-spirited attacks on the looks of a pregnant woman. Importantly, it illustrates exactly why proposed approaches to "protecting women's spaces" could make life unpleasant for huge numbers of cis women.

@ItsDanSheehan Yes, I don't really get the 'badge of honour' aspect to getting blocked. I've been blocked by a few people in the past - mostly due to disagreements about politics. I never celebrate this, because it means the possibility of finding common ground has been lost.

@HiMartinHere @rs_carr My guess would be that the "With love, from Dad" was engraved when the father gave the lighter to the son at some point in the past, and then the son added the engraved dates shortly after his father died.

I think this is up there with my favourite political photo ever, where Jacob Rees Mogg and his nanny pose like an 80s synth duo (but do it better than most 80s synth duos).

@Andys_Pants @fesshole I've always paid the way the tradesman prefers - cash, invoice, cheque, card, and I've never descended to subtle threats. @5goalthriller I *so* love twitter for these moments. That said, I speak from a place of privilege: while I have a mortgage, it wasn't hit by Thatcher's crippling interest rates, and I don't have three children. However, to balance this, I have spent the last 40 years listening to Duran Duran.

@fesshole Many people leave a terminally ill partner. The fact that you're staying is amazing. Maybe explore counselling - it'd healthy to talk through your issues and manage any resentment (for yourself or your partner), to help you both make this very tough time as positive as possible.

@davidmbarnett I think it's fair enough, personally: there's nothing wrong with having grey hair or requiring mobility aids. Or red t-shirts... Further, do people *really* think it would be inclusive of all over-50s to depict people who look 51 (but are perhaps trying to look younger)?

@mattxiv I think it's a huge issue for older people. Asexuality was not so much of a thing in the past, so we went through dating unsure or even unhappy if someone was interested in a relationship. I think asexual people are now in a much better place, as it's recognised and discussed.
