It absolutely ISN'T theft, in the same way using libraries isn't theft. If you're someone with a sizeable platform, you shouldn't be dissuading your audience from buying legally released books however they can: it's an elitist and gatekeeper-y attitude to only tout "new" as best

I'm tired of having to defend shojo manga or series that are deemed "girly" as worth reading; especially when that same courtesy isn't given to me. "You haven't read One Piece/Naruto/Dragon Ball/Berserk???😱BUT THEY'RE CLASSICS" Yeah, but I bet you haven't read Heart of Thomas.

Unsolicited opinion: Don't get me wrong, losing Rightstuf is a huge blow to the US animanga community, but if you couldn't predict this was going the same way as the rest of the global market, well..... + international fans have been priced out of Rightstuf's range for years.

@NotPantherLily Takako Shimura is most well-known for her LGBT manga Sweet Blue Flowers and Wandering Son, and is only one of two mangaka who has made me uncontrollably sob for characters. Her artstyle is gorgeous, and her manga feel like collected vignettes of a larger story.

@NotPantherLily Ryo Hanada is a mangaka to watch out for! Her first serialized manga Devils Line is incredibly well-paced, with an intricately woven plot & a surprisingly diverse cast of characters. Breaking the mold of many similar settings, this series is one of my favourite currently running!

Great news for "Chihayafuru" fans! Initially the manga was announced to end with vol 49 however "Chihayafuru" by Yuki Suetsugu will now end with vol 50 this Winter 2022. Vol 50 will also include a spin-off manga English release @KodanshaManga French release @pikaedition
