An excellent representation of population shifts in Nebraska over the last ~70 years. Most notably, Millard goes from Class D to three of the largest Class A schools. Notable declines in class size include Falls City, Pawnee City, Neligh, and Minden.

The takeaway is being a head HS coach offers leadership opportunities — e.g., developing strategy/culture, earning the trust of players and their families, and making tough decisions about playing time, discipline, etc. — that are transferable to higher levels of competition.
