On one hand, Hokuto Shin Ken is invincible.
On the other hand, everything I've seen about Baki tells me Yujiro would just tell his body to stop exploding or some crap and it would work.
I want a dedicated button in fighting games that lets you spam voice lines at any given time similar to Mario Party so you can have fun while being combo'd
マリオパーティみたいにキャラの音声を流せるボタンが欲しい
コンボされながらそれで暴れたい
Look, all I'm saying is that when Sol killed his younger self in a time paradox, instead of fading out of existence he was just went "nah" and kept existing.
Might be a hot take, but I'm actually okay with fighting games sticking to mostly recolors.
I've seen what's happened with MOBAs and characters becoming unrecognizable.
And besides, games like Street Fighter or Tekken still do alt costumes and customization.

Honest and genuine relationship discussion plus character development happening with a character that has zero plot relevance.
That's why I love Guilty Gear and Daisuke, it feels like he actually gives a shit about all of his characters.
I can't believe Street Fighter 6 gets so much right with its gameplay, but then its monetization is the most scummy of free-to-play bullshit.
It's actually crazy.
Something I miss from older Guilty Gear titles is how every character used to have a unique font for their name in character select.
I wish they'd bring that back. The Old West style font for Order Sol? Amazing.
I remember seeing some people talk about how Strive is more washed out color-wise compared to XRD a while ago.
And while I do agree that it is definitely toned down, I think it's partially because EVERYONE PLAYS ON THE STAGE THAT TAKES PLACE MOSTLY IN THE SHADOWS.
I find it really funny that a lot of the Strive character themes are serious looks into a character's mentality, at times even being a bit bleak.
And then you just have Johnny's theme which just says "Damn he's cool."
It costs $100 to unlock all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover content in Street Fighter 6.
If players have no Fighter Coins, it will cost them at least $24 to unlock a single costume.
From the perspective of an old Guilty Gear player, Strive Season 3 is pretty funny.
You look at Johnny and Elphelt and see that their gameplay has changed quite a bit transitioning to Strive.
But then you look at A.B.A. and Slayer and just go "Yep, that's A.B.A. and Slayer."
I find what they said about feedback really interesting.
"There's a lot of feedback from people who don't play the game and are just repeating what they hear on a stream"
I imagine that's a big problem for game devs these days with social media.

Fighting game deep dive time!
Been playing a lot of SF6 recently, and it made me realize a key difference between "anime games" and SF.
The way anti-airs work and the reward you get off of them. (Thread)
The FGC is really just 200-500 or so real people that actively play and engage and the rest of the scene is on lookers with weird things to say about people they wish they were.
Know your audience.
If I had a nickel for every time there was a mesoamerican character in a major fighting game that was hyped up to be a big deal and then turned out to be a complete jobber, I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
Proposed Fighting Game Terminology
"warioware"
When your success is based on a situational test of skill, not related to any particular decision you or your opponent made.
"I lost to some fakeass reactable warioware setup because I didn't press 6P in time..."
I wonder if Terry being added to SF6 is gonna make a lot of the new fighting game players realize Sol copied a lot of Terry's moveset

People are surprised by this?
I thought it was pretty common knowledge that XRD didn't sell very well. Would make sense that they'd want to rethink their approach.
I've seen speculation that A.B.A. is the next Strive character and honestly I'd be down with that because I think her interactions with Elphelt would be hilarious.
Elphelt: Aw, you two look so cute together!
A.B.A.: Thank you! Isn't she sweet, dear?
Paracelsus: Please god kill me

It is a damn shame development of this game got crippled by COVID
So many things weren't implemented (IKs, 2v2, GL being a base roster character, character versus themes) because of it
Imagine this in Blazblue
Tager after a loss: Don't worry about this setback, soldier. Analyze your tactics and see how we can improve.
Terumi after a loss:
I like how Sol's dustloop is such an iconic combo that it's stayed in the series for like 20 years at this point.
What are some other iconic combos in fighting games that have become series staples? Not counting basic things like Ryu 2MK Special.
I love how Strive was constantly called a baby game, and then Arc Sys released the most complicated Guilty Gear character in the entire series in Asuka.
It's fitting for the Gear Maker I suppose.
You know, I've come to realize something about +R.
+R isn't just a hard game.
+R is a MEAN game.
It feels like the game is actively hates you like 70% of the time.
(and I might be lowballing that estimate to be honest)
I'm gonna be real, the idea that "removing motion inputs makes it more likely for casuals to like the game" seems ridiculous.
Because we have an example of a game with no motion inputs that STILL didn't take off with the casuals.
Hell, we have multiple games like that!
If I had a nickle for every time there was a really strong gun wielder in Guilty Gear that Japan heavily downplayed, I'd have two nickles.
Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Found out that Zangief has a whole bunch of normal throws in SF6 and I love it
It's one of my favorite fighting game design choices; when the grappler has a whole bunch of normal throws just for the sake of having more throws
@MitoRequiem
One of his Accent Core routes has him fight Order Sol when I-No takes him to the past.
When I-No is shocked that that doesn't kill him, he basically says "I don't care, past or no past, I'm me."
The difference between SFV's V-System and SF6's Drive System is really funny to me.
V-System: "Oh are you losing? Here's a free install or special move that'll help you make a comeback! 🙂"
Drive System: "Oh are you losing? Fuck you. Die."
One of the things I really like about Strive is how, in my opinion, it greatly improved on Potemkin's reworked design in XRD.
A few small changes here and there ended up making him look so much better. (Thread)
