Today we had our annual Friends of the Ohio Governor's Residence & Heritage Garden Board meeting and we served this Violet Jelly Cream Cake. The violet jelly is homemade with violets grown in the Heritage Garden. Thank you to everyone who volunteers to keep the garden beautiful.

At this year’s State of the State address, Mike highlighted the progress of the @ImaginationOhio , where kids under the age of 5 can receive a free book every month. In May, more than 321,000 Ohio kids got their book in the mail!

I visited Phillips Tube Group in Middletown with @TinaHusted1 yesterday. They are the largest, independent, woman-owned manufacturer of precision steel tube in the country and supplies over 60,000 tubes per week to the @whirlpoolusa facility in Findlay for their dishwashers.

We broke ground on the 76th State Park this morning. Great Council State Park will honor the Shawnee Tribe and the settlers who lived near Oldtown (Greene County) in the late 1700's. This park will provide a great place to learn about Ohio’s unique history.

Today I spoke with United Way employees from all over the state working hard to strengthen their communities. One-third of the @ImaginationOhio of Ohio partners are United Way groups, making them such a strong supporter of early childhood literacy. Thanks for all you do!
