@postcarbonsteve Right on schedule. The average July high from 1990-2020 in Austin was 96. Low 75. We’re already 5-7 degrees past that. Add in a water crisis and the eventual energy bust from fracking going dry, and it’ll be real ugly when the AC goes out. Which won’t be long now I expect.

@nytimes So a “solution” to the climate crisis that: uses even more non-renewable materials than a normal car, doesn’t reduce oil consumption (gas is a byproduct of diesel refining, diesel can’t be replaced with electric), and is only practical is suburbs, not in cities or rural areas.

Germany and Italy alone, with a population of less than half of America's, exported more than that. Europe works. America doesn't.

@MarcoLowe @SabraMBoyd That is only true in a lie by omission sense. A gas stove is ~40% efficient - directly. But that is the only step. An induction stove is ~90% efficient - directly, but that is the last step. The first step is burning natural gas to produce electricity at 40% efficiency.
