The back half of this run is a series of really bad stories with even worse concepts written shockingly well with a really good Peter Parker at the focus of all of them. I cannot stand One More Day but he sounds like Spider-Man! There’s legitimate suspense! How did he do it?

So my question is like. If characterization is subjective, then what even makes it a character? Why can I go “that’s Batman” when he could, at any point in time, pull out a spear and start impaling people like a kebab? Clearly, for a character to exist, they need traits, right?

Characterization is, and always will be, a subjective matter. Bottom line. Opinions on what a character should be are incredibly subjective and are based on what you want, what you’ve read, when you’ve read it, and what you took away from your reading. It is not objective
