Is it true, that when international organizations come to Zambia offering competitive pay, our local HR personnel downgrade the conditions of service? Claiming that Zambian workers cannot be paid such high rates? This is the most unpatriotic thing to do for any HR person. #Zambia

Listen, if you invest K250,000 in a 15yr Govt bond now, you'll receive about K500,000 in 2037 & about K4600/month for 15yrs. In 4.5 yrs, you get back your investment. Elo you may not even build a house in K250,000 that can be rented at K4600/month in Zambia. #Nodignityinpoverty

In strict Bemba tradition, the chicken gizzard is exclusively for the man of the house. Due to trade liberalization, Shoprite can now sell a pack of 25 gizzards, granting every household member, including children access. Bemba ancestors must be turning in their graves 😂😂😂

Zambia has, again, reached an agreement to restructure $3 billion of its int'l bonds. Our nkongole due in 2020, 2022 & 2024 will now be repaid in 2035 & 2053. This is likely to deliver $2.5 billion in cash flow relief between now & 2025. I know it's difficult appreciating why

Growing up, Mom insisted that we must be kind. Since coming to Lusaka I've severally been defrauded trying to be obedient. But recently, a gentleman I helped with a situ gifted me with a 30 x 20 plot, saying it was the only way to repay my kindness. I cried, then quickly signed😂

In 2022, Zambians in the diaspora sent back a whole K4.1 billion to their families (BOZ,2023). That's K700,000 more than 2022 CDF budget & just K800,000 less than the 2022 road infrastructure budget. Hats off to them for leading the war on poverty! God keep them safe. #Zambia

I know 4 boys in Kabanana compound. They're school drop outs but can tile houses & pave yards like crazy (see samples in pic). Please hire them. If you're out of Lusaka I can even pay for their transport so you only pay for labour. RT to help the young men

Boma entered the mall around 15:30. I remained outside to avoid being accused of rushing her. I’ve eaten ice cream, drunk coffee, even bought a book to read. There’s nothing else left to do except ask the security what time the mall is closing.

Our maid's son goes into Grade 8 on 24th Jan. No school fees expected. Just like that, the financial barriers to secondary education have been lifted. I know the journey to free education is long but it has started.

NAPSA is selling serviced plots on Twin Palm Rd after ZAF area in Ibex. Lowest price I've seen for a 20 x 21 plot is K193,000. That's 3 years worth of a civil servant's pay assuming they stop eating. And that's just bare land. Where's the citizen's land empowerment here? #Zambia

Human relationships of any form can't be eternal. They end: by default (death) or by choice (break ups). The earlier you accept this, you won't take any relationship for granted. The inevitability of this outcome also means we must make the most of relationships while they last.

Learnt this recently & I think it's profound. There's a TEMPTATION by people from poverty backgrounds to think their success is more valid compared to those from relatively well to do families. It's wrong, as even people with some privilege MUST still choose to succeed or not.

Recently in Katimamulilo, Namibia, a man, seeing my plate number walked to me to express his excitement about our recent election & peaceful transition of power. Last time this happened was in 2012 after Zambia won the AFCON. I'm reporting back to you good citizens. Keep winning.

In 2004, I took my niece back to school after she dropped out following loss of her parents. The money I used was part of my meal allowance I was receiving as a student. She is now a teacher. Meal allowance is not a luxury, but a life line for students from poor families #Zambia

When you're poor, you prioritize food & other basic needs above all else. You develop survival instincts that make you of low expectations, easy to impress & prone to manipulation. You lose your critical voice. I wonder if democracy actually works 4 the poor. #nodignityinpoverty
