It’s with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of brother firefighter, county instructor and Chief Randy C. Rider. His dedication to the fire service has made a lasting impact on not only his department but the hundreds of of volunteers he has trained.
Reposting without the typo.
The countywide driving ban is still in place. Just because your street is clear doesn't mean that every road on your path will be safe.
Driving today puts you at risk of being stranded in your vehicle.
It is not worth the risk. Please RT.
Do you know the difference between a storm watch and a storm warning? Our friends at the Normal Fire Department went viral for their post explaining the difference and it is never a bad time to share this:

PROTECT YOURSELF DURING A POWER OUTAGE:
*Keep freezers and refrigerators closed.
*Only use generators outdoors and away from windows.
*Don’t use a gas stove to heat your home.
*Disconnect appliances avoid damage from electrical surges.
Test your CO detector.
While you're at it, check your smoke detector's batteries and expiration date.
And make sure your home has a working fire extinguisher.
