48 hours: here's the cells stained using calcein AM, a dye that should only be metabolized by live cells. This is 90% *mystery sports drink*, 10% DMEM. I'd say they're doing fine. Not perfect but way better than expected. Tomorrow we get our FBS replacement results! Stay tuned!

A better silk test. Control unmodified yeast + graphene on the left. Silk yeast + graphene on the right. I'd say that's pretty unambiguous that this is working properly. One coagulates as expected, one does not. This is after 15 min, but IRL the reaction can be seen instantly

I've officially hit the point where I've designed enough DNA that I've started just doing it for fun and not just for work. I'll get an idea for a cool construct and just casually code it up. 15 year old me would be so proud.

For the amount of struggle that went into making this, it came out really nice! we broke so many drill bits making this omg. But the magnetron core is complete! only have 2 more pieces to make and the whole thing will be done!!
