This was the best grand slam final for years. Both players were at their peaks throughout the entire match, points were being won not lost, neither player choked, and it was certainly highly competitive Most other women’s finals have either been poor at times or one-sided

Alcaraz may have won a slam and became number one in 2022, but I argue winning Wimbledon (in a massive match against Djokovic, the dominant player of the decade) was his real breakthrough I view this as his expected slump, he's emotionally and physically worn out
