This weekend, I picketed an event run by fascist enabler Posie Parker! It was pretty embarrassing to watch, to be honest; barely anybody came ( @markrwilliamson thinks we had double the people) and one lady spent the afternoon with the suffragette flag the wrong way up 🤣🤣🤣

Many people don’t vote for @TheGreenParty because they’ve been misled into believing that they live in an area where we can’t win, and that they have to vote for another party to “keep the Tories out” 😢 Yesterday, I was putting up posterboards to show how popular we really are!

If you’re at conference (or are passionate enough about this stuff to tune in online!!) please vote through E03 to revise our stance on HS2; it’s a poorly carried-out project that needs to be REFORMED, not scrapped, if we are to lay the groundwork for a net-zero future!!

Recently, the council has debated whether the River Cam should contain a designated bathing area. While I want the river to be clean and swimmable, I can’t support proposals that put an undue amount of trust in Anglian Water, given their track record!

While there are good landlords and bad landlords, that’s only relative to the average landlord - I want to see a society where everybody’s home belongs to them. I’ve always respected the amazing work of @ACORNunion , but only got around to actually joining yesterday ✊

I travelled down to Cheltenham today for @unitetheunion ’s Protect the Right to Strike rally - it was great to see so many unions come together to defend one of workers’ fundamental rights ✊✊✊ I was also happy to see some @TheGreenParty representation ☺️☺️

On hot days, many of Abbey’s residents head down to the river for a swim 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️ Sadly, given its disgusting state, this is rarely a good idea! It’s essential that we let more people know… To this end, I’ve begun to experiment with testing water samples 💧

I can now finally get back to talking about Abbey 🥰 As usual, I had a great time at the ward’s Big Lunch, one of its many fantastic community events! I even won a free MOT in the raffle, although I returned it so it could be given to somebody more in need of it; I don’t drive 😅

The Abbey Trails Collective have put an incredible amount of effort into this BMX track, which has sadly been closed off by the Council due to safety concerns 😭 Yesterday, I met up with one of the people involved to chat about what we can do to have it reopened to the public 🚲
