They've decided to revert to ID numbers for bikes. This is what I suggested when I emailed on Thursday to complain that naming all bikes as women was inappropriate. Wasn't possible then, but now it is, apparently.

Since some don’t ‘get’ what’s wrong with hysteria & NWCI endorsing its use. The word has a long & unpleasant history. Apart from the dafter origins, it was used as a psychiatric diagnosis for women, usually those who chafed against societal norms, or did things men didn’t like..

Chuffed to share our new report on #homeschooling during #COVID . Key points: low income parents spent the most time helping w/ school work at home, yet their children spent the least time. Across all income groups, time spent on school work well short of the normal school day.1/3

Anyone know about the ‘international’ committee advising on #LeavingCert calculated grades? Don’t recall anyone outside of Ireland on the list? Also, on Aug 17, Norma Foley said gender was part of the calculation but on #rtept tonight said it’s ‘gender-blind’. Confused...

@Womens_Aid A very brave woman. It’s ‘unfortunate’ the judge felt it was fine that the courtroom was jammed for proceedings yesterday. Apart from adding to her stress, she’s severely immuno-compromised. A bit of consideration after all she’s been through wouldn’t have been unreasonable.

@evemcdowell_ I’ve gotten out of taxis when this stuff happens. I begrudge them the fare. Some will genuinely engage if pushed, but if all they want to do is pontificate, it’s not worth the psychological or financial cost. Hit them where it hurts - wallet & ego.

New #DigitalStrategy flagged, drawing on 'Learnings' from current strategy. My experience of @Education_Ire is of an organisation unwilling to listen to criticism of the old strategy. Puff pieces only. We need to make full use of any public consultation.
