LOADSHEDDING ALERT!
EEC is likely to implement load-shedding as a precautionary measure to conserve generation capacity and safeguard our grid from total collapse. We are doing everything possible to minimize the effect of this exercise to our customers.

COPPER THEFT AT NKWALINI
Residents of Nkwalini zone 2 and 3 in Mbabane yesterday woke up without electricity following another case of copper theft, which is on a rampant in the country.
DAMAGED ROAD AT MAPHIVENI
The damaged road at Maphiveni area makes it impossible for EEC to service Lomahasha customers as the Mafucula alternative route is also damaged. EEC is using all possible means to service the customers despite the challenges posed by the rain.

It’s that time of the year again! join EEC and partners in commemorating the biggest hour for Earth, at House on Fire on Saturday, 23 March.
The Managing Director, Ernest Mkhonta, has handed over sponsorship worth E952 000.00 to World Vision Eswatini under our CSI program. This will go towards two projects; a goat farming project at Sigwe & Lubulini areas & Malindza Refugee Centre Pre-School repairs & maintenance.
Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) has signed a six-month contract with Taiwan Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Services (TEMES) to provide technical services for conducting a Gas-Fired Power Plant feasibility study between Lubhuku and Edwaleni.
EEC FURTHER CONSTRUCTS 8 HOUSES FOR VULNERABLE PEOPLE
EEC has further extended its CSI by donating towards the construction of eight (8) two-room houses worth E580,000 to various communities in the country in collaboration with Eswatini Baphalali Red Cross.

EEC CONSTRUCTS A HOME ECONOMICS LAB AT LUHHUMANENI PRIMARY
Over 400 pupils in the northern Hhohho region stand to benefit from an EEC donated home economics laboratory which is near completion. The project was funded EEC partnership with Motraco to the tune of plus E820 000.

POWER GENERATION RESUMES AT EDWALENI HYDRO
…after spending over a E1.5 Million to fix burst pipe
EEC’s power generation at Edwaleni Hydro Power Station are back to normal after being suspended due to a burst canal pipe which feeds water into the station’s penstock.
EEC has, in the last two weeks, achieved commercial operation on landmark Lavumisa 10 MW solar PV plant. The plant is in Qomintaba, about 40km from the town of Lavumisa and connects to the Maloma 66/11 kV substation which was upgraded as part of the project.

EEC GIVES OUT E1 MILLION TO CHARITY
EEC has shared about E1 Million to nine (9) organizations as part of its Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme which seeks to address some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) challenges faced in the country.
In 2021 we commissioned a 10MW solar plat at Qomintaba in Lavumisa and plan to build more solar plants to ensure our renewable energy target as a country is met.
