So this happened today. Many thanks to
@DASP_principal
and
@Dasa2lead
. I am so overwhelmed and humbled by this. Thanks to the Exec Bd members who were there surprising me today, especially
@RebeccaFeathers
for representing the team!
I so honored to be a guest of
@ChrisCoons
for the
@StateoftheUnion
. Thank you for taking time out to speak to us via Zoom and thanks for always fighting the good fight for educators!
Check this guy out! He will have your staff shouting like they are in church on Sunday! Very motivating! Cannot wait for him to uplift mine in August!
@Principal_EL
What a day!!! We started it with
@Principal_EL
our opening day speaker. How lucky are we to have such a great educator in our back yard?!? We choose to stay! We had a “family-style” meal at Tomeka’s Homestyle Eatery in Dover. If you haven’t tried it…do!
Listening to
@SecCardona
right now, I hear him saying “us” and “we” a lot…He’s been in my seat as a Principal, which makes me believe him when he says he will do everything he can to make sure Principals are at the table.

20 Years ago today, these two crazy kids said, “I do.” Well, we have laughed and cried, had joys and sorrows, but we are still here together. Happy Anniversary, Honey!
Thanks to the
@DASP_principal
Association for the great blanket you gave me honoring me as the State Principal of the Year at our planning retreat this past week. It was so great seeing you all “live” and in person for the first time in a year.
Yesterday was a great first day of the
@NASSP
Leaders Summit. It is so wonderful meeting school leaders from across the country! Excited to see my NASSP Board Peeps! Delaware is in the house with our team: Nyia McCants, Dara Savage, and Holly Langley!

Tonight, the Delaware State Board of Education unanimously approved Early College High School at Delaware State University to expand to include Grades 7 & 8 beginning in the Fall of 2022. Information sessions will be announced soon!
Congratulations to my friend and fellow
@DASP_principal
buddy who surprised me as the Delaware Secondary Principal of the Year. I got to return the favor as she was named the Delaware Elementary Principal of the year.
@RebeccaFeathers
Love you!!!
Congrats to Dr. Evelyn Edney, director of
@DelStateUniv
's Early College HS, for being named the Del. Principal of the Year. I first met
@EdneyEvelyn
in 2014, and I’ve been impressed by her passion for education and her leadership since then.

What a way to end the past few days of learning the “what” and “how” and then seeing our “why” in these fabulous kids who served on a panel to share the student voice we need in schools. Thanks, Ronn Nozoe and the
@NASSP
National Association of Secondary School Principals staff!
There is great power in using student voice in principal advocacy. They remind us why we get up in the morning and keep us grounded in the mission.

Had a ball with principals today as we held our Delaware Association of School Principals (DASP) Chat N Chew. We had a chance to network with others who are leading schools in this pandemic. It was so great!!!
@DASP_principal

Excited to be working on a
@DEDeptofEd
committee to look at the teacher evaluation rubric. There are some very great minds in that group from all walks of “education life.” I am sure we can get the job done!
When 69 of your students were deemed “college ready” all last school year, you reward them with a trip to Six Flags America! I’m more worried about the chaperones on this trip than my students! 😂

So…we are on another trip. We are attending the National Principals Conference
#PrincipalsUNITED
with both the
@NASSP
and the
@NAESP
in Nashville. Day
#1
did not disappoint. I attended meetings and workshops and ended the day with a reception for the
@DASP_principal
.
When your Salutatorian represents the students in the nation and speaks on a panel at the National Principals Conference about the importance of student voice, you are front and center taking photos and cheering!

So excited to be facilitating my pal,
@Principal_EL
in
@NASSP
‘s Ignite+ Workshop tonight. He is dropping all kinds of nuggets about Why Leaders Should be Crazy About Their Students in this 4-part series. Loving the energy in this room!
Last night, Delaware’s very own,
@Principal_EL
delivered a strong message to school leaders from
@DASP_principal
around the state about why he chooses to stay in the profession in challenging times…Simply put, because kids deserve to have some be crazy about them. Thank you!!!!
