Attorney. Martial artist. Lifter. Runner. Traveler. Aspiring hyperpolyglot. World citizen, but American first. Extreme moderate. (Ok, video games too.)
@Angry_Staffer
My favorite part is when they make clear Cannon almost certainly doesn't have jurisdiction in the first place.
Everything she did will be squashed when the appeal is finalized.
@Angry_Staffer
I'm tearing my hair out over the bad media takes, essentially calling the fall of Severdonetsk a 'major victory' for Russia when it has next to zero strategic significance for either side's theory of victory.
@AWeissmann_
@nytimes
Now for the fun part.
To prove, at great length, for days and weeks on end, that Fox News are liars, and they know they are liars.
Will the judgment be $2B? $10B?
Here's hoping it bankrupts News Corp and effectively ends the for-profit disinformation business.
@ProjectLincoln
She backed the wrong horse.
She bet on autocracy, and lost.
The music stopped, and she didn't have a chair.
Thinking she was just part of a movement, it turned out she wasn't.
So here she is. Exposed. And alone.
And without an alibi.
@lauferlaw
@EricTrump
@NewYorkStateAG
The usual tricks won't get them out of it.
You can't stiff the AG on a bill. You can't divorce her. You can't write a check and sign NDA. She doesn't care about the bot army. Or the media cycle. She can't be intimidated into silence.
She's coming.
@irgarner
But Ian, Russian army not weak like woke western NATO army.
Russian army beat Hitler.
Russian army strong!
Russia no need food, medicine, supplies, training, leaders, plan, or morale.
@KevinMKruse
@lauferlaw
Nothing here is going to go smoothly (it's McConnell's Senate, after all).
But if I had to pick any person on Earth to fight this fight under these circumstances, it would be Adam Schiff.
@nypost
The issue is not whether the buyer paid Jon Stewart more than market value.
The question is whether Jon Stewart made material misrepresentations about the space to the buyer in connection with establishing its market value.
Thanks for playing.
@BoboFromTexas
I see you left out the part where she was part of an armed insurrection storming the Capitol to stop the certification of the Electoral College vote, and that they had erected a gallows on the front lawn.
@peterbakernyt
@CBSNews
This is potentially misleading.
The missing piece here is, *what percentage of the electorate* will be voting on election day?
For example, if 66% of the 2020 electorate voted *before* election day, this would mean Trump is leading 69-27 among 33% of the electorate.
@BradMossEsq
This is where progressive politics goes to die: taking extreme action that has a zero percent chance of achieving your stated goal, and pisses everybody off in the process.
@McFaul
They need to stop reporting that the ruble has recovered, without mentioning the fact that the ruble isn't even convertible into foreign currency--and if it were, it would be toilet paper.
@lapatina_
I suspect this won't be consummated until after Ukraine wins the war.
But once Ukraine wins the war, I'd be surprised if their accession isn't quickly ratified.
@mastor1
@lauferlaw
Because he doesn't work for DOJ, nor any part of the Executive over which Barr (or Trump) could exert control, whether directly or indirectly.
@ninaturner
Our elections are democratic.
Elections determine the Presidency.
Elections determine the Congress.
Elections determine SCOTUS.
It may be “wrong,” or contrary to public opinion, but it is still the end result of a democratic process.
Win elections if you want to set policy.
@clairecmc
Nimrod's identity crisis is a feature, not a bug.
She just wants power. That's her north star.
She'll say, do, or believe whatever she needs to.
@SteveSchmidtSES
They make journalism sound like a Herculean feat.
Asking Trump a question he can't answer without lying or looking stupid is a trivial task.
When Chris Wallace becomes the arbiter of journalistic integrity, you know we've gone soft.
@BriannaWu
I knew a girl that was just like this at the start of transition.
*He* is now a bald, depressed, single alcoholic.
And not for lack of affirmation.
One can’t just assume transition is the best choice based on what may be transient euphoria.
We need longitudinal studies.
@LilySimpson1312
You could be doing anything else.
Improving yourself. Learning something useful.
And you’re…
*checks notes*
…hunting the apparent absence of non-straight characters in works of fiction.
@fabio_ta12
@JackDetsch
You must be new here.
The ability to draw a semicircle on a map does not equate to the combat and logistics capabilities needed to put armor and troops on that line, much less defend it.
@gtconway3d
Someday soon she’ll get what she thinks is the big opportunity she thinks she’s so carefully and surreptitiously set up.
And her 15 minutes will crash and burn in glorious, coked-out, failed Mean Girl fashion.
@NateSilver538
I'll take this one.
Nate, imagine all the things you know about statistics and politics, and the long journey that's led you to this point in your life.
Now, replace ALL of that with reality TV, pop culture, and some high fructose corn syrup.
That's what they're thinking.
@Angry_Staffer
The man has a point, when the very thing the UN was ostensibly organized to prevent is unfolding before them, and they're paralyzed.
Why exist?
@McFaul
It's an unprecedented victory for Putin.
In framing everything as a war between the liberals and Donald Trump, and using Donald Trump as his sock puppet, Putin has nearly half the USA openly cheering for Putin's agenda, and against its interests, because it "owns the libs."
@unbaffle_me
@DonLew87
Venue is proper in New York.
If you want a MAGA jury, tell News Corp. to undertake a migratory merger to Mississippi.
(But I'm sure I lost you at "venue.")
@kylegriffin1
@MSNBC
@GarrettHaake
Consider that McConnell showing his hand.
I'd hazard a guess no one that voted to dismiss on what amounts to jurisdictional grounds will vote to convict on the merits.
I'm going to predict now that Trump will be "acquitted" - again - but I hope I'm wrong.
@KyivIndependent
"Russia claimed that the Czech Republic isn’t allowed to provide Ukraine with Soviet-made weapons without Russian permission."
That kind of desperate statement suggests a country petrified that it isn't taken seriously.
The bully's been punched in the face, and it can't adapt.
