The former night club bouncer had his fucking dick so far up Gove’s arse, that Gove was able to give him a blow job at the same time. What a fucking bad liar. He revelled in being called Tory Tom.
FUMING! My daughter has a detention arranged because she dared to message me yesterday to collect her from school because she was not well. This is against school policy apparently. My daughter has told us kids can be vomiting in the toilets and kids don’t go home. Unacceptable.
Ending PIP will literally kill thousands of disabled people. Thousands. More blood on the hands of Tories. Even if they don’t implement this, the very thought may send people into despair and suicide. Fuck the Tories. I hope they all experience the worst Karma can give them.
My wife is very much neurodivergent and she is a veterinarian. Right through her career she has had colleagues assume a great many things about her that are completely different wrong. My wife says very little and does not engage in conflict often. Today she had a colleague /
I have been discussing
#ADHD
as a disability and a disorder, and this has ruffled many people’s feathers. I argue that ADHD is a deficit disorder. People don’t like hearing that, so I want to bring up things that I know make ADHD unpleasant to live with: relationships. /1
All this bullshit about children’s school attendance is so far removed from reality.
Just witnessed a year 7 boy arriving at school - he was late - clinging to his dad, crying, trying to hide his face under his jacket’s hood. That is not normal. I am so upset at seeing that.
I have experienced much the same in my past career, and it is tantamount to bullying and this is typical of NT individuals thinking that ND individuals are “slow”, “stupid” or “incompetent”. When we react the wrong way, we get blamed for our behaviour. I am fuming for my wife.
My wife is highly methodical, highly pragmatic and does not simply act without owner consent - except of course in an emergency. In an emergency, my wife is calm and collected, able to see what is needed to save the patient. /
take over a patient, which made her really angry. My wife has been in contact with the owner, yet her colleague has decided to proceed with putting the patient on fluids - and has not discussed this with the owner. This is not acceptable professional practice. /
@implausibleblog
She is not interested in hearing what they say. This is a cheap political stunt and the students know it.
By their silence, they condemn her to ignominy.
Can I say this?
Undiagnosed
#ADHD
is incredibly destructive to society, to families, to employers, all the way to individuals with undiagnosed
#ADHD
!
Why? Because of impulsivity, inattention, emotional dysregulation. The lack of executive function, which creates chaos.
Is it me, or do the Tories want to destroy UK education - from primary school to secondary to uni? They seem to be keen on turning the UK into a desert of academia. They seem hell bent on destroying the arts, theatre, music - anything cultural based. Can someone explain why?
@kirkkorner
I have diabetes. I have wet my pants because I could not access a toilet. Urinating is not predictable and when you need to go, you don’t have control. This is because the bladder outlet gets damaged by diabetes. And you can have days of incontinence.
My daughter has detention tomorrow - my wife got a message saying as much. This was a decision made by a substitute teacher, for my daughter reacting to a bully. Tomorrow morning, I have a visit to make to the school…
Most people with
#ADHD
are pretty shit at relationships. From a young age, we get shunned by peers who don’t like our behaviour, our needs, our lack of self regulation, emotional dysfunction, or understanding how relationships work. /2
I know that schools are traumatising children in schools. Has anyone actually considered the trauma parents go through? Schools threatening parents with fines for attendance, threatening parents with social services, calling the police on children. When does this stop?
@RichardJMurphy
Something no one is mentioning - Sinn Fein now the biggest party in Northern Ireland. It won’t be too long before there is a united Ireland. That is one of the biggest seismic shifts and no one is talking about that.
This is not intentional on our part - we lack executive function skills. Social skills is an executive function that we don’t develop at the same time as our peers. This is an important fact. We lag in cognitive development, particularly emotional regulation. /3
I get told by the DWP that my application for my son’s DLA will take up to 20 weeks. So that basically means 6 months to get it sorted. Now imagine if you desperately need that money?
That cunt $unak & Stride reckon it is too easy to get PIP or DLA. IT is impossible by design!😡
@LieslMcconchie
It is terrible when you have children who can’t attend because of mental illness. It is a mess. Fighting with my daughter’s school. We are removing her. No empathy for children’s needs. We got Covid from my daughter in May - she got it at school.
By the time a person with ADHD is an adult, some may have learned to develop some skills. A great number won’t have. Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria will be developed and this causes difficulties in relationships. /6
Ryan's a autistic young man with severe learning disabilities I'm his dad his carer his legal appointee, I do all the forms for him, I filled out his pip form , sent it back with all supporting evidence and a letter signed by his GP,spent ages waiting for a reply, 8 months later
We lack patience, are unwilling to wait for our turn as children, so this causes peers to be unwilling to play with us. We also struggle with boredom and seek out novel experiences, so we as children might flit between friends or groups. /4
@RachelFairfiel1
My daughter does not trust the school. She has seen other girls in the loos getting sick. This obsession about attendance is a problem.
By the time we get to our teens, our inability to forge relationships is pretty much set.
I am talking from experience, but also watching my kids. It is painful to watch! A car crash in slow motion. And you know that your kids can’t change. They don’t have the means to. /5
@RichardJMurphy
That PPE degree is worthless. Oxford should take a huge knock to their reputation as a top university based on that degree alone. Truss, Sunak, Kwarteng et al have devalued it completely.
My daughter is going to visit a friend from school - also neurodiverse. They have become friends at school. This is an answer to my prayers. My daughter has had very few friends - and no female friends at school. Her friend has 2 autistic brothers! It warms my heart.
Being neurodivergent is not a recipe for success in a relationship though. I see a lot of ableism from a great number of neurodivergent people. Intimate relationships with someone with ADHD is hard! I admit this. I see how much I hurt my wife. /8
I can already hear tell me, oh that is NOT ME! Well, bully for you. I think a lot of people will agree with what I am saying.
I had ONE girlfriend - my wife - who is neurodivergent - she may have ADHD herself. I have been fortunate to have met her. /7
A lot of neurotypical people who get married to someone with ADHD struggle to keep up with the needs of the person. My wife has said many times that she has 3 kids. She has a point. Normal couples therapy drives a relationship to fall apart - you need ADHD aware therapy. /9
Well, what a difference 24 hours makes. My daughter’s school are taking steps to improve her situation. She is now allowed to leave class when a sub teacher is covering for her regular teacher. She has also moved tutor groups into a group with her SEND friends. Positive.
I want to ask, how many parents are aware that it is near impossible to seek redress to a situation if your child is in an Academy. There is a major issue. The rights of children has been violated. Parents are powerless to fight a HT except by legal means
Unfulfilled expectations damage relationships. Why? Because it appears like you don’t care!
Now here is something I can expect from neurodiversity movement ideologues: she needs to make accommodations…! She needs to realise it is not intended. /11
@mrjamesob
You cannot consider her a real journalist, James. She is a Tory propaganda mouth piece. She should stop trying to pretend being a journalist and go and work for the Tories. Same for Bruce. I refuse to watch anything with either of them.
When you are falling apart, and they need you, you don’t have the neuro capacity to provide support for them. The same can be said for ADHD adults. 👇🏻/15
It says a great deal about my wife that we have not divorced. We were on the verge of divorce about 7 years ago. She pulled back.
Here is what I know about our marital problems: It is not what I do, but rather what I don’t get done. /10
@ArtfulEmma
Sometimes it is best to let people do what they want, for the sake of your own mental health. I reminded her of how her Dad has also experienced this in his career. NT people don’t understand how much it hurts.
@jzellis
I find nights to be the worst. A fan blows air, but it is cold. The humidity!
I grew up in South Africa - I can cope with dry heat of 40c heat. Not this shit.
I have a controversial opinion: behaviourism in schools is child abuse. Punitive behaviour policies in particular. When it comes to SEND learners, punitive behaviour policies are discriminatory and violate human rights. These policy impede on the dignity of all children.
What won’t be reported on about the Southend case is how poor support is for autistics, or their mental health. Mental health services are just about non existent.
Guess what? Most parents who have ADHD are pretty rubbish at parenting. (Waiting for backlash on that too). Why are we terrible parents by default?
Because parenting a child with ADHD (or a neurotypical kid) requires a tonne of executive functioning. /14
@DrEricKuelker
#ADHD
Is vastly underdiagnosed. The genetic heritability of ADHD means that many children who get a Dx may very well have a parent with ADHD. The fact that you have mentioned 12 year old boys means you have shown your gender bias towards girls who also have ADHD!
So there is no money for:
Education
The NHS
Social Care
There is money to make war.
The UK is not a world power anymore. Nor an Empire. It does not need to make war.
The single major issue for me as a parent of disabled children, is exhaustion. Having to fight for my kids’ rights. Being unsupported in this fight. To be quite honest, apart from ONE person, I have not had a single person actually talk to me and give me support.
Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria also plays havoc in relationships.
Now what about relationships with your children - particularly if they have ADHD?
This calls for consistency, patience, kindness, empathy & nerves of steel. /13
We as parents will have our son living with us for the rest of our natural lives. This is very hard to contemplate. I worry about his future and what happens when we aren’t around anymore. I see an elderly man with his Downs son at Asda sometimes. /1
This is not an ableist take - if you have ADHD, and are in a relationship , you need to realise that there is another person in your relationship, that can do all the heavy lifting - particularly if you have children, more so if you have kids with ADHD! /12
@JeniRockett
@naomicfisher
I think you are right there is more to this story - parents unable to afford the right shoes, unable to meet the demands of the school. I think you should look elsewhere as to the blame. Why have you not even questioned the harshness of sanctions. If that were my child… 😡😡😡
Once again, this is my view. But I have read and watched videos about ADHD for the last decade. What I am sharing about relationships and ADHD is a massive reason why I don’t consider
#ADHD
to have positives. I just look at the hurt I have caused. /19 END.
My 12 year old daughter is about to start Year 8 in September. She was sharing her feelings about school last week. It broke my heart - she is not happy at school, and I completely get it. I hated school, and she shares a great deal of the same reasons that I had at school.
@Mellow_Pascoe
He is so much like his Mum. I bet she would be horrified by older brother’s decisions. Harry has grown up so much, and his wife Meghan has had a huge part in this. It is very apparent that he loves her deeply. The callous disregard for their well being has been disgusting.
@carolvorders
This is what he HAS DECLARED. What hasn’t he declared? I don’t believe a thing that comes out of his mouth, and how many omissions are on the Parliamentary members’ register. What is he hiding? Infosys shares? Gifted to him? Very likely.
Our indefinite leave to remain in the UK has been approved. Now I can breathe again. It has been an unbelievably stressful time since last Thursday! I had a complete meltdown on Friday over my worries that we would not have had approval. The consequences were unbearable.
@Joanna__Hardy
A woman in Sunderland who was pushing garbage bins at the police has been identified as a local business owner. I reckon she is going to be very sorry.
A preteen is not ready for secondary school, not ready for the brutality that they mete on the children. My daughter’s academy is engaging in behaviourism, but still making accommodations for SEND learners, but the entire setup is not sitting right with me. Behaviourism is evil.
Saw my son’s HT today. Dressed in torn jeans, knee high Doc Martens, had her eyebrow piercing on and a loose fitting t-shirt. You can see the rebel in her - and I love it. A lot of parents would shit in their pants if they saw her today, but she has my deepest respect.
An aside here - many people with ADHD have kids young. Not great. After 30 is better. Why? Because neurodevelopment goes on for at a few years past age 30! /16
More
#ADHD
misinformation, more stigma, more stupidity. It just doesn’t let up. It is funny how many people think they understand a disability. A neurodevelopmental disorder.
Not being able to meet children’s needs can result in poor outcomes for children. There are significant consequences for this.
Another aside - it is why ADHD needs to be diagnosed in parents if they aren’t already, and their kids are presented for diagnosis. /17
The difference in my daughter since I stopped her school attendance is amazing. She is less stressed, less anxious and overall happier. Conflict between my kids has improved significantly. It goes to show what school based anxiety does to her.
@Philippa_Perry
Excuse me. Your knowledge is sorely lacking and it is not about upsetting people.
ADHD is not just a diagnosis, it is neurodiversity, something you should take the time to read about. ADHD is an identity for me, because it does define me. Furthermore, if you knew anything…
@PhilMyers53
I think the current PM should be facing a personal law suit from everyone who lost a family member. He should face a mass of civil claims. He needs to be bankrupted - since he loves his money more than anything else - including his family.
@PippaCrerar
@MrHarryCole
I made this point over and over Pippa. Changing a phone - particularly an iPhone will transfer all info over when you start the new phone up. WhatsApp messages get stored in the cloud and are downloaded to a new phone. He has been lying. The whole time.
I see a lot of single mums who are raising their kids after their neurodivergent partner/spouse has walked - many of those men have no executive functioning skills to speak of! /18
They have a beautiful connection, and I can see the Dad is devoted to his son. I suspect I will be that man one day. When I am 70, my son will be 36. A sobering thought. What happens if I go too early?
I am crying while writing this.
My daughter socked a boy in the face who was bullying her and school punished her for doing so. What sort of message is being sent to girls when they do this?
Boys can say what they like, do what they like. Just look around, this is what is happening in academia & workplaces.
School visit went well for my daughter. Behaviourism not running the children & teachers’ lives. Good Sendco and their SEND provision is good, happy to make reasonable accommodations. It is looking positive, they can take my daughter. She was very happy after the visit.
Today, 20 years ago, I got married to my wonderful, beautiful wife. My wife reminded me now - our mornings have been hectic with just one car. I am truly blessed. My knees buckled and when she walked into the church. I love her so much.
@D_Blanchflower
They were busy looting the treasury. That is what Brexit was and is all about. They also engaged in State Capture. You have to ask serious questions about the former CoE who is currently the unelected PM - how much has he pilfered?
@PaulbernalUK
Medical insurance is subsidised. No exclusions of pre-existing conditions, highly regulated. Premiums are tightly controlled. Unemployed people have their premiums paid for by govt. Private hospitals and medical care tightly controlled. That won’t happen here.
@implausibleblog
I think he is having restless nights now. I was watching Clarkson’s farm with my son - he loves the show, and I think Clarkson has had a dose of reality set in - and it is not a bad thing - the show is publicising the plight of farmers.
School is offering my daughter an opportunity to attend a programme for “a self-esteem group”.
I have serious misgivings about this. Why? Ableism. Blaming and shaming.
Anyone have any other views? I will ask about what this is going to be about, but serious misgivings.
Driving to Cardiff today for my English exam! Yes, the govt wants to know if I can speak and understand English. This is for our permanent residency. I lay £150 for the privilege. My wife did a degree in English so is exempt from taking this exam. The hostile environment.. 🤬🤬
@kimturner70
My wife absolutely believes in discussing costs with owners, getting consent when needed to proceed with a course to action. She is very conscious about owners being able to afford the fees. Ingrid is not quick to run diagnostics unless absolutely necessary.
Please read this. Physician Associates is one of the worst things ever dreamed up. People will die - have died from inadequate expertise from these PAs. Very, very concerning.
Tomorrow, a crucial piece of legislation around healthcare will be scrutinised by MPs.
It will happen in a committee room, away from the main chambers, on a whisper.
If it passes, it will worsen the health of the UK population.
Did you know about it? No?
A thread 🧵
I have been off Twitter while things were not so great. I am in the process of removing my daughter from her current school.
Anti bullying policies are only as good as the ability of a child to report bullies. Why do they treat bullied children like rape victims?
My response to the CEO of
@CarersUK
What the fuck are you going on about? Most carers don’t get help from him or the likes of you. You are both grifters. Carers are struggling to feed themselves and their loved ones. You are a fucking hypocrite.
Not sure if this individual is working in a school or not, but this is the truth. Parents of SEND children are definitely judged and blamed for behaviour. Our kids are also blamed for their behaviour.
For those who say that working is good for you when you are struggling with your mental health, you are completely wrong. During 21-22, I worked in the midst of a mental crisis, and I was burnt out. I could not manage, and I also experienced bullying. It deeply affected me.
@implausibleblog
What I must point out with what this chap is saying about child protection - Michael Gove is solely responsible for the mess in children’s services.
I make no apologies for saying the best place for children is in school.
The Tories tinkered around the edges of a generational challenge. Labour are gripping it.
This week must be back-to-school week, not just for some children, but for all children.
