Very excited to share my journal article on the Downing Street Chief of Staff.
Not only my first peer-reviewed publication on the

, but also my 1st solo-authored article.
Please read & share.

Her dignity in the face of a constant hail of misogynistic threats and abuse was unreal to behold. I won't say much here, as it's not my place, but it was an honour to work for such a decent, kind, and devoted MP.

#RosieDuffield
This man is first & foremost a misogynist with violent impulses. He adopted a cause which seemed to give him a free outlet for that dangerous hatred. This might well have been subconscious but it was undoubtedly what drew Mullen & so many others like him to this ‘activism’

I've said it before, but her dignity and dedication to service in the face of such misogynistic abuse is genuinely inspiring.

Can we all just take a moment to admire
@PippaCrerar
? She broke the
#downingstreetparty
story and exposed this for us. Also, very good at the respectful but interrogative question.
(Having seen her at 2017
@centreforlondon
conference, can also attest to her good humour!)
@back_badger
@NHSEngland
Erm, why? This is a moment of real hope - for all of us, not just the lady who has received it today. And, frankly, we all need more hope!

Would be funny if it weren't true!
Also like Madeley's comment:
'I tell you what Williamson would say to explain himself on this - nothing at all.'
@DeborahMeaden
My wife - scary Norwegian (think Viking) - is a big fan of yours and says to send any mean tweeters her way 😛 Not quite sure what her plan involves but she's currently dusting off her shield and building a long ship...
So, barring a few corrections, it'll soon be Dr. Stafford... I believe this get's me membership of some sort of strange academic club!? Or at least better seats in restaurants...
@jckchd
What a ridiculous and lazily-banal tweet. KG has been in Labour movement for decades. She has championed so many great causes and policies. All RLB could point to was a "Green New Deal" - a slogan that was largely bereft of sognoficant detail of a plan for implementation.

@DrJoGrady
@PSCupdates
If this is the case, Jo Grady, how can you justify that the union passed a motion calling for the UK to stop arming Ukraine against an oppressive Russia?
@FionaOnasanyaMP
Questions is WHEN are you going to so the right thing by your constituents (ie. leave the Commons and allow a by-election to take place).
100,000 words, 352 pages, 3 years, one journal article, multiple conferences and papers, continued teaching and, to end, a job. The story of my

Alan Bates is a strong example of what the honours system should actually be for and the kind of service it should reward.
Less gongs for popstars and more for people who have been so brave and inspirational in standing up for their community.

@Se_Railway
I understand the attempt at humour but can't help but feel that you've misjudged this (especially re: cancellations) given how progressively awful your service has been over the past 18 months.
Would you support return of headteacher sacked for covering up harassment, assault, & bullying?
Or return of PC removed for law-breaking?
Or surgeon fired for malpractice?
No, you wouldn't. And that's why Tory MPs shouldn't be thinking about return of

Lady Sylvia Hermon running a formidable one-woman show at challenging various Hard Brexiteers on what their actual workable alternatives are. She refuses to put up with their blustery and baseless replies. Her interventions are full of "killer" questions!
@DrBenWhitham
1. Tom Harwood is a very disagreeable and patronising "journalist"
But...
2. There is nothing wrong, in itself, with having your flag (looks like a blind, to me). Patriotism is not a bad thing - displaying your flag does not automatically translate patriotism into nationalism.
Proud to work with such a great team in office of
@RosieDuffield1

Last few weeks on refugee crisis have been tough for us all but we've been able to help a lot of people with some of the most difficult of issues. Also been working with some amazing partners.
Big up, team!
Very much looking forward to presenting my exciting new research project on Downing Street Chief of Staff to

I work part-time for a Kent MP (not Tory...bet you can't guess, lol...) and this would definitely not even remotely match what we're getting on Emails...
Vitaly Skakun is hailed as a hero after sacrificing his life to blow up the Henichesky Bridge.
The bridge was mined but a Russian column was advancing and there was no time to detonate it remotely.
Skakun radioed his unit and told them he would do it manually, saying goodbye.
Excited that this book (including my chapter on the Downing Street Chief-of-Staff) is now scheduled for publication on May 31!
Many thanks to Jennifer Lees-Marshment (not on Twitter but soon to be

@JohnMannMP
Are you actually serious? She turned up when her arrival date was immanent to vote on EU Withdrawal Bill, despite her being due. The fact that someone is on maternity leave clearly means they won't be voting (otherwise it's not leave) and we shouldn't expect them to be, either.
@hairygit
I still tear up at the point where he saves Mainwaring's life and they then hear of his previous bravery. Arnold Ridley's own war story was amazing. His son's book is also well worth a read.

I'm sorry but how patronising is this?!
Are

That Labour isn't exhibiting disproportionate levels of anti-Semitism? Also, responding with "Tpries have a bigger Islamaphobia problem" is not helpful - it's a distraction tactic and, as such, a failure to grasp issue. Absolutely right that EHRC should investigate BOTH parties.

Except that's not what you were doing, is it?
You were:
a. reducing a woman in public life to purely her looks
b. implying there is a problem with how said woman dresses (skirt length)
c. not even bothering to identify the woman correctly in the 1st place.
I would love to see
@DrRosena
running for leader or deputy. She's connected to the issues that matter most, speaks with compassion and knows how to campaign. At the very least, she should be

@REESWINLAB
@AaronBastani
Of course Bastani has a problem with David Evans - he played a role in securing the most successful Labour government ever AND he commits the mortal sin of being a winner.
Politics geeks - Have never watched The West Wing but now tempted to buy the full box set (to binge, whilst marking). Anyone recommend or is there a better alternative?

When you've had years of death and rape threats, physical intimidation, the necessity of hiring your own personal security and a total absence of support from your party, you can show us all what bravery looks like. A lesser woman wouldn't still be fighting. Oh, and get to fuck.
