Hate to see any judge shown disrespect. When disrespect is shown, at least judges see what police officers have to deal with everyday.

Is Ms. Mink wearing her official county-issued name plate? The one with the official Montgomery County seal? If so, does that present the appearance that she is speaking for and on behalf of the Montgomery County Government and the other 10

From a law enforcement family here in Maryland, the pain is felt here, too. We mourn the line of duty death of Deputy Clinkunbroomer. We thank him for his service.
@catturd2
So, if it rains, it’s climate change. If it snows, it’s climate change. If it floods, it’s climate change. Wildfires, climate change. Tons of carjackings, climate change. Uptick in violent crime, climate change. I get it.
@GlendaleFOP12
From a law enforcement family here in Maryland, we, too, mourn the line of duty death. We thank him for his service. May he Rest In Peace.
@afond
@fond
- very well said. When people don’t feel safe because of all the crime, they’re not going to venture into a danger zone. Why pay for tickets, food, etc., only to wonder if you’ll get carjacked, shot/shot at, robbed, etc. A wise move by the owners.
@DCNewsLive
Glad no injuries. We hope they come back to MoCo where holistic solutions to their indiscretions await. Maybe they can attend a council member’s town hall, listening session, safety walk, to see how serious MoCo is about crime.
@MoCoPGNews
Not to worry. Just wait until the
@MoCoCouncilMD
’s holistic solutions to crime kick in. As they’ve said, it’s not about police. And, as far as the traffic violators…

Shame it happened. Hoping no serious injuries. Also glad a council member was on a rare ride along and saw things first hand, instead of imagining & reimagining policing from an air conditioned office.

“Promoting crime”??????
@alanhenney
and “and others” do nothing of the sort. Reporting on crime is not the same as promoting it. “Promoting” it almost sounds like a conspiracy. Sorry reporting on it hurts feelings.
@mcpnews
Stunning. Yet another person who lives outside Montgomery County arrested by Montgomery County Police for commiting crimes in MoCo. Still waiting for holistic approaches to crime from
@CMKristinMink
.

@SmPotatoes
Scott, I was a cop for 21 years. My son has been one for 17 years. Please tell us both how to make a more equitable traffic stop. Looking for procedures, please - not opinions. What has worked for you? Do you prohibit discretion? Does EVERYONE get/not get a citation to be fair?
@CMJawando
Mr. Jawando, if EVERYONE operated their vehicles in compliance with the traffic laws (like law-abiding citizens are required to do) there wouldn't be a need for you to run interference or provide "carve outs" for people who don't operate vehicles lawfully.
@mattyglesias
Call it what you want, but DC - like a lot of other govts that hopped into the “defund the police” movement - are getting what they paid for.
@nbcwashington
Absolutely stunning Independent citizen recording of the armed individual charging at the officer who was backing up. Glad Officer not physically injured.
@dixon_jeanette
Ms. Dixon, why don’t we wait until discovery, council hearings, court proceedings, and investigation(s) to play out before making threats.

From a law enforcement family here in Maryland, we mourn the line of duty death of the officer. The officer is thanked for his/her service. May the officer Rest In Peace.

CITIZEN: Alright, Officer, move that car - it’s blocking a bike lane.
OFFICER: Sir, we’re here investigating a very serious crime.
CITIZEN: I don’t care. Park in a parking garage like the rest of us.
@MetroTransitPD
@MoCoPGNews
OMG!! Good catch. Even though this happened in PG County, an activist group in Montgomery County says this about fare evasion:
@mcpnews
Thank you for your very quick response, 4D MCPD. Sorry the officer was placed in the unenviable position of shooting the assailant. Sounds like the officer saved untold others from serious injuries or death. Thank you all for your service.
@DCNewsLive
Montgomery County 2024 - where police would be prohibited from asking permission to search a person coming from the direction of the gunshots.
@wisconsin_now
From a law enforcement family here in Maryland, we mourn the line of duty deaths of the two officers & pray the officer wounded has a speedy & complete recovery. We thank them all for their service. May the officers killed in the line of duty Rest In Peace.

As a member of a law enforcement family, we, too, send prayers. While council members send their thoughts, they’re kinda tough to reconcile with thoughts made on prior occasions by some of the people you probably know:

Read several books & articles. You’re okay with people committing crimes for which no penalty is imposed? I feel sorry for you.
@CMJawando
Mr. Jawando, thank you for the invitation, but when a police chief who has been a police officer for almost 40 years says your Bill will make us unsafe, I’ll take his word over yours any day. You were a police officer for how long? I won’t be attending. Sounds one-sided.
@MoCoPGNews
@alanhenney
Downtown Silver Spring again??!!!?? You can’t be serious. Glad
@CMKristinMink
believes there are several components to public safety other than police. Maybe the “community building” one would have been “key” (pun intended) here. Or, maybe “after-school” programs.
@alanhenney
Good catch!! Now they can hopefully be extradited back to Montgomery County where they’ll face holistic solutions & be afforded social programs & violence prevention initiatives. 🤣🤣
@marylandmatters
Maybe the candidate is not as electable/popular as he thinks he is. Of course, when a candidate blocks other respectful users of “X”, it’s not surprising.

Montgomery County PD is short ~130 officers & counting. They have $20,000 signing bonus. Problem is electeds in both jurisdictions don’t really support police. They can offer a signing bonuses, but in the end
@MoCoPGNews
@alanhenney
Why can’t MoCo Police put more officers in the over-the-top-busy 4th police district (Wheaton)? Is it because they’re trying to concentrate on the over-the-top-busy 3rd police district (Downtown Silver Silver Spring)?
@HCPDNews
Nice work, HCPD SRO. And to think just right next door in
@MontgomeryCoMD
,
@MontCoExec

members did away with the SRO program. Schools must call 911 to have an officer in the area respond. Wonder how much time is lost between calling 911 & officer arrival?
@GLFOP
From a law enforcement family here in Maryland, we send thoughts, prayers, and best wishes for a speedy & complete recovery. The trooper is thanked for his service.
@PatriciaEguino
Ms. Equino, to show us your credibility on the issue, please advise what YOU would have done? Would you have the officers back off? Would you order no arrests. Would you allow damage? What if an officer(s) was assaulted - what would be your order?
@CMJawando
Mr. Jawando, you keep talking about your “holistic approach” to violent crime. In the meantime, the police officers from a police department you want even smaller will do the hard work on the front lines. Just stay in your comfortable air-conditioned office.
@MoCoPGNews
Hope if challenged by police the young men do nothing but freeze & drop the gun(s). Problem is, a gun may get pointed at/toward an officer & the officer will shoot & family members will come out of the woodwork saying what a “pillar of the community” the victim is/was.
