Rich Barron Thought: There are many D1 schools (300+) that find a diamond in the rough as a HS senior. He has a great freshman year, then promptly leaves for greener pastures. That didn't happen at Providence College. That's a big deal. Gotta be able to keep your own talent.

I think Pierre catches more heat than deserved because he's not Kolek or Newton. Okay, yeah, he's not them but those are elite college basketball players. This is essentially his freshman year. You can do a LOT worse at point guard than Jayden Pierre. Development is on pace.

Something very poetic about the season coming down to Nova. Obvi Georgetown / UConn have taken the main rival throne in Prov but my days (2014-18) were defined by trying to knock off the Almighty Wildcats. Some epic Friar / Villanova matchups over the last decade. Feels right.
