This happens to all subs including ours.
This is a Virginia Class sub with the same issue. No nation has been able to solve the problem of these tiles coming off during operations.

@Garrett_Watton
Trying to squeeze the ever loving shit out of your gun results in your hands shaking 🙄.
Proper shooting form doesn’t come down to “do this one thing”, be it finger placement on the trigger or the proper firmness of the grip. It’s a lot of different factors that add up.
@bmitori
@Garrett_Watton
Are you just trolling at this point? I’ve been shooting for 30 years, gripping too hard will absolutely negatively impact accuracy. A tiny wobble from your hands does impact your accuracy, increasing the wobble with a death grip exacerbates the issue.

Subs go through extreme stress. You have massive water pressure that compresses the hull, you have extreme temperature shifts depending on where the sub is operating it can be incredibly cold or very hot. You have corrosion acting on the underlying hull, and whatever you use to
@tbone_turfwar
@officejjsmart
It's not this is common.
I am not only a Navy vet but I am a Navy brat, my father was a submariner for 20 years. I saw the subs leaving and coming back my entire life. This is par for the course.
@OrvilleThePeck
@secretsqrl123
A US sub loses its anechoic tiles just as quickly as a Russian sub does and it while that sub will have its tiles repaired the Virginia class sub is the newest class of US subs, none of them are remotely close to refit time.
Anybody portraying a few missing tiles on a Russian

AI is going to eliminate so many coding jobs it’s ridiculous. High skill manual labor that focuses on custom projects are where it’s to be at.
@NerdInked
@officejjsmart
It takes just a couple weeks at sea for tiles to start falling off. This isn’t bad maintenance or disrepair, it’s just what happens to subs at sea. That sub made a transatlantic crossing, it would be surprising if no tiles were missing.
@AngelusMerula
@officejjsmart
LMFAO - that's not the pressure hull, those are anechoic tiles. They fall off of subs regularly.
Here's a Virginia class sub missing FAR more than that Russian sub is.
@am360degree
@ben_cole_tweets
@secretsqrl123
So even those tiles will come off but on a sub you're talking about expanding and contracting the hull many times as it surfaces and dives, the underlying hull also rusts breaking the bond with the metal underneath, and the sub is doing this for months at a time. Not to mention
@ruud195
@officejjsmart
The rust is a major problem on all Navy vessels, but especially subs because you can't paint the hull without a dry dock. The tiles fall off due to a combination of the rust, the expansion and compression of the hull when diving and surfacing, and because of the temperature

Firm grip is good - too firm is a problem. It's goofy to pretend that there's not a such thing as too firm a grip. Every target shooting forum, every actual trainer will tell you the same thing. Yeah there's such a thing as too tight a grip.
Moreover if you're shooting for

Different beast. The Gotland is pretty darn slow by sub standards. It also can't dive as deep as many other subs and as a diesel electric it's not at sea for as long as nuclear powered subs and gets more frequent repairs.
So the forces that tiling needs to withstand are far less.
@cirnosad
@ArmchairW
And quite possibly China making moves on Taiwan. But I think china is more likely also waiting for the us to be dragged further into another conflict and will out-wait Russia in that regard.
@brrrrtzzzzz
@secretsqrl123
I certainly wasn't criticizing, and yeah for your mission the Gotland is the better sub for that job. It's quieter than a nuclear powered sub and doesn't need to cover nearly the amount of water.
@StinkBugBag
@secretsqrl123
Yes however I am not super familiar with them. I see they have a new design of tiling but I would be interested to see the performance of it and it's limitations.
But I know the Gotland is a very slow sub and it doesn't dive nearly as deep as many others like the Virginia

Men can’t win this fight for women, especially when it’s women that overwhelmingly vote for the politicians that push this garbage.
Women need to either quit voting for leftists or shut the hell up when they do exactly what they say they’ll do.
@VerbeekJesse
@secretsqrl123
Invent a glue that is strong enough to hold those tiles on against massive water flow pressure and can survive the temperature shifts and won't crack as the hull compresses and expands and you will be a millionaire overnight.

3rd day they try a mass push, a few machine guns & a couple hundred casualties & they realize you mean business & it stops.

It’s by design. Prohibit the largest racial demographic from advocating for its own interests and create a coalition of minorities. A minority tyrannically oppressing the majority is the end goal of all authoritarians. Less people you need to appease to stay in power, more money

Israel isn't an ally, they're blackmailing and bribing our politicians to call them one. Israel is Israel's ally and they're only concerned about the US as far as they can benefit from it. The USS Liberty, the dancing Mossad agents on 9/11 all prove Israel is not our friend.

Man if only it wasn't just after the baby that was born 8 months ago and she had only been this way the whole time. I wonder if that's addressed anywhere in the post.
@secretsqrl123
Dude you think that this is an indication of a Russian sub being garbage when the same thing happens to our subs. Shit compared to the same issue happening to this Virginia class sub this is MINOR. You got no room to speak here.
@thedailyfactsuk
@officejjsmart
The main cause of the tiles falling off is the adhesive breaks apart as the pressure hull beneath the tiles contracts when diving and expands when surfacing. The same thing for the underlying paint coat. That coupled with extreme temperature shifts between hot and cold makes them
@micktheair1
@secretsqrl123
Because it's incredibly difficult to secure the tiles in a way that doesn't compromise the desired acoustic properties and can withstand the compression and expansion of the hull as it dives and surfaces, the extreme temperature changes and can hold up to the forces of the water

Yes it will affect the sound signature and the more tiles a sub loses the easier it is to detect through both active and passive sonar. See tweet below for why it's so hard to keep the tiles on.
