Fun fact! Back in the late 1980s Amtrak contacted Comeng to potentially buy XPTs for use in the US. IRL, the order never went through, but... in Openttd it did. In game, the sets ended up being built by Budd, and entered service in 1992 on medium-distance, higher-speed routes.

Ever wondered why there's that weird gap between the tracks near Flemington? Turns out it was a station. Originally opened as Necropolis in 1887 (to serve the Cemetery), it was renamed to Rookwood in 1914, and closed in 1967
