was able to catch the Arabi tornado essentially from as it formed (over the West Bank, we think) to when it lifted. Note all the flashes that were transformers blowing as the tornado progressed.

@MargaretOrr
This tornado has caused considerable damage to Arabi and parts of the Lower 9th Ward. Also reports of damage out of Terrytown and parts of West Bank too. Devastating. I pray everyone survived
Another sign of how low the river is. Mile marker 95 is at the apex of Algiers point. Most of the time, everything below the green on the pilings is submerged. I estimate it’s 15 feet under. This is also the deepest part ~ 300 feet! That’s an ENORMOUS amount of water NOT flowing!
Getting a little misty in here with the last few hours sitting next to this living legend.
@MargaretOrr
, you’ve taught me so much, and will forever be grateful for your knowledge and support. ❤️

The same storm that dropped a tornado on Huntsville an hour ago, is still tracking towards populated towns. Velocity data suggest this tornado might be up to 1 mile wide and headed right towards Scottsboro, AL. A Tornado Emergency is in effect.

legend is about to hang up his cape tomorrow. He wasn’t in front of the camera, but he did a brilliant job of making those in front of it, look like a million. Many thanks to your many years of service, Eddie Kalil!
Forgive me while posts might be a little more sparse and infrequent the next few days. Spent 6 hours driving to pick up these two precious ones to introduce them to New Orleans!
Found the absolute most ADORABLE member of Eve in Mandeville!!! Everyone meet Kinley! She listened to

It's possible a tornado struck parts of Covington just south of I-12 just over an hour ago. We're getting damage reports at AVALA Hospital and a fire house says their doors got blown in. Here are the data that show it could have been a rain wrapped tornado.

Probably some of the best times in years… getting to see my parents with my kids in town, and also alongside the woman I love with all my heart!!! French Quarter lunch on Friday!
My heart goes out to everyone affected by today’s severe weather. Thank you
@NWSSPC
and
@NWSNewOrleans
for their incredible long lead forecasts and alerts that proved invaluable. May all of us count ourselves lucky to benefit from the expertise and technology we find today.
Today a day no New Orleanian can forget, the 18th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the second anniversary of Ida. While the storms took some of our possessions, they'll never take our spirit and soul. (pics: public domain via

Reports coming in of a tornado spotted in Sulphur just west of Lake Charles. Hearing of damage reports too. These same storms are headed towards Southeast Louisiana.

Sorry I’ve been away for a while, I’ve been enjoying a little time with my family! PLEASE prepare for the cold weather ahead. Check your pilot lights, furnaces, and heating devices now before it arrives! Happy Holidays!

Dang!!! Winds now up to 140 mph!!! Landfall coming soon and looks to be farther east of NHC track which would make landfall on an uninhabited nature preserve just southwest of Perry.

It's carnival season in New Orleans. After the festivities were canceled in 2021, the city couldn't be happier this year! And a sunset like this just makes it even more sweet. Have a safe, and happy weekend!

It’s my daughter’s 9th birthday, the great, great, great granddaughter of Jean Francois Lucie, she was born on Bastille Day, 7-14-2014 at 7lbs 14 oz and the hours and minutes she was born add up to 7! This BEAUTIFUL cake was made by my other love, Patty, of Éclair Délicieux!
Cross referencing the radar data I just tweeted out with this power outage map via
@Entergy
this tornado looked to have been on the ground about :30 minutes from 7:21 PM to 7:54 PM as it touched down over the West Bank, crossed the river, hit Arabi, and made its way to the lake.

Good morning. I hope you’re okay today. Good news, all alerts have been cancelled and just some cloudy, breezy conditions remain. There is still a lot of debris and some standing water to recede but the storm is over. Forecast looks good over the next 7 days. See you this pm. 🙏
Here's the radar imagery of the reflectivity and velocity data of the tornado that formed over Slidell today and eventually struck
@NASAStennis
too. Sending our thoughts and prayers to those injured and affected by our storms today.
