I'm going to break my bet for a moment to talk about this. The issue with Sonic Forces stages isn't the controls. The controls are designed the way they are to accommodate the stages more linear design. You don't need full 360° control because you never have to use it.

Everyone dogging on Frontiers even tho Crash 4 had a 2 year advantage in sales, and currently, as of May 2023, Sonic Frontiers sold 3.5 million copies, so in 6 months Sonic Frontiers has sold over half of what Crash 4 has done in 4 years. Please do critical thinking.

SEGA will be livestreaming their financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31. The stream starts at 4AM in the UK, and while I can't get up that early, I'll get up around 5/6AM and see what I can find. Financial results holds some juicy details.

Wouldn't it make sense for the company that created and governs the IP as close to as objective as you can get? They pick the VA because they believe that VA are the best for the position and character. SEGA believes Roger is ENG Sonic. There is no changing that.

It's very clear that many are thinking selfishly regarding the dropping of Classic Sonic. It isn't a case of "Oh it'd be best for the brand going forward", it's "its for the best because suddenly I get Advance 4 or Rush 4". It's "Me, Me and Me" rather than "Best for the IP".

For a fanbase that tells SEGA to stop bringing back Green Hill, Chemical Plant, and Sky Sanctuary, their happy to bring back Ryan or Jason if given a slimmer of chance. It's hypocritical. Ryan and Jason aren't coming back. They had their runs and did an amazing job. It's over.

What Sonic fans neglect to mention about "Sonic fans" like Tyson Hesse and Tee Lopes were that those people already did significant professional work before working on Sonic. Tyson was a storyboard artist for two shows. Tee composed the OST for Major Magnet.

I feel SEGA would probably allow for Sonic Adventure remakes to be on par with Yakuza Kiwami. So redubbed cutscenes, Frontiers model for characters, additional story cutscenes, a new gameplay system, remade graphics while reusing some stuff from the latest entries, etc.

Feel bad for Insomniac due to the recent leak, especially since personal information has leaked. With the current line-up Insomniac is just a Marvel Game Studio, with the Ratchet And Clank series as a tech demo series for the new PlayStation. Modern PlayStation is sad.

Sonic as an IP is practically everywhere I go. I've seen kids wear merch, I've seen Lego sets in most shops I go in, and it's gotten to the point I see large, bootleg Sonic plushies being sold outside the Arndale in Manchester.

Budget is incredibly important. The people who manage that budget can practically be the people who can kill a project. Bigger Budgets mean outside studios can aid in development, more staff can be hired and payed accordingly, better software and hardware can be introduced...

SFO is in a very privileged position where this team could just do what they wanted, with who they wanted, and for as long as they wanted. Forces began active development in mid 2016 and released in late 2017. SFO began development in late 2018 and was released in late 2023.

Checked Shuji Utsumi's career history, and it looked like he was the one who signed the PlayStation deal for Crash on PS1, helped come up with the idea to bundle Ridge Racer at launch. Also in charge for SEGA's Dreamcast line-up, so Sonic Adventure, JSR, Space Channel 5, etc.

Quick reaction time is one of the key traits of good boost level design, and Forces doesn't normally focus on that. If you provide that criteria in the level design, Forces would improve gameplay wise. Now, about Shadow Generations.

I'm going to give a hot take. I like licenced music in media. Hearing Our House when Sonic recaps Knuckles story is so cool, and it's one of the very few quirks of modern day TV/Movies I like, especially since it's usually 80's/90's stuff which is when music peaked imo.

Apple is the reason Dream Team looks the way it does. It is a title for their platform and will spend as much as they want, and Apple are huge, so they can easily afford to spew cash out for a high quality Sonic mobile game.

You wonder why Crash 4 has around 40 animators and Sonic Frontiers had around 14? Because Activision are in a way better financial position to bust out large budgets for their games.

The only times you use 360° controls are for select bosses, and they controls work fine for those encounters. What Sonic Team would need to do for a hypothetical Forces 2 is to push the level design more. The key word is engagement.

Okay, so I stored two new eras that could be added to Generations "Ultimate" if they go that far. One era dedicated to post-classic titles that still feature Classic, and post-modern titles that feature Modern. With this, a total of 12 stages and 4 boss fights would be added.

This goes back to something I said ages ago, SEGA isn't as big as the others most people compare too. I wish they were, but to compare them to companies who are much bigger money wise, it's ignoring factual explanations.

However, I don't like how many fans, including content creators are willingly ignoring the limited development of the original to praise this mod. Forces has a year and half of actual development to make 30+ levels while also having to appease higher ups.

This is actual feedback. If this is the direction they would like to take for Shadow Gens, I say go for it, and I'll be here to support and provide feedback on how to gain the best possible experience of the Forces design philosophy. This design has value, it needs developing.
