The moment Kyôraku hands Rukia the captain‘s haori and appoints her as the new captain of squad 13. This was a request by Ukitake before he used the Kamikake. It‘s such a sweet and wholesome moment and i hope the anime adds stuff like this or better adapts the novels completely.

Did you know Kubo got to design weapons for Dragon Quest X in 2015. He designed the one-handed Spalt Edge, two/handed Spalt Blade and Spalt Claws knuckle. Also drew this illustration for the collab depicting characters of Ogre species, doesn’t the middle one seem familiar?👹

His hollow side is then further teased, with the mask appearing twice after the Renji and Kenny fights in Soul Society. The mask appeared at body parts that were hit by fatal blows and protected Ichigo’s body. Which might have otherwise killed him if it wasn’t for the mask. (2)

During the Kenpachi fight his Hollow is also already being officially introduced way before the Byakuya fight. Ichigo has to fight him to learn to properly use his Zanpakuto and gain Zangetsu‘s support. The Hollow literally tells you here how he will help to protect Ichigo. (3)

It’s the same for the Ulquiorra fight. When Ichigo was training with the visoreds, he opposed his hollow to gain control over that power. And before the Hollow evades he literally tells Ichigo, not to ever die or he will come and take control over him. (5)
