I don’t know how anyone can claim this is better for student athletes. Non-revenue sports will suffer, travel times will be unreasonable, and many schools who lose their conferences altogether will cut programs to adjust to lost revenue

Here's how it all shakes out imo: Oregon and Washington sprint to join USC and UCLA in Big Ten country. Arizonas, Utah, and Colorado prop up the Big 12. Oregon State, Wazzu, and Cal join the MWC. Stanford literally never plays another athletic season besides sailing or whatever.
