Alright, so, not that folks need me on here, but I will be off Twitter for the next month or so. School's out for summer, so I'm trying to head into dissertation mode to crank through a chapter or two this summer. Also, just restoring some needed mental energy. With that:

Heard about an old pastor of mine who is retiring. Still married. Didn't blow up his churches. Kids don't hate him. Took his last church through some storms with integrity. Gonna focus on mentoring younger pastors. Amazing stuff. He made it.

So my mom went to a Bible study where everybody was saying they didn't need philosophy or psychology because there were contrary to the Bible and she just gently asked where the Bible said that and if any of their pastors studied theology and it got quiet, so I am proud of her.

When you think about the average evangelical, what denomination do they belong to? If you say "Southern Baptist" then you need to update your priors. Since 2012, there are more non-denominational evangelicals than SBC. Today, 40% of evangelicals are non-denom vs 18% SBC.

Very quick, basic observation: it seems very straightforward to think that every sin in the NT (including, say, racism) can have a personal dimension (the flesh), a demonic instigation (the devil), and a systemic manifestation (the world).
