All smiles after today’s all clear. The five year mark is a major milestone for cancer victors and I give all glory to God for His grace.

“If He doesn’t do anything else for me, He’s done enough.”
Non-coaching friends ask me what I write when evaluating. Some notes from today:
🔹handing the basketball to official (instead of dropping or rolling)
🔹sprinting in/out when subbing into the game (instead of walking)
🔹high fives and bench eruptions

These

This is my HOF college coach, Cathy Inglese and me three years ago today. She tragically died just over a month after this picture.
• Realize that coaches who hold you accountable love you the most.
• Love on your people.
Thank you, Coach!

Coaching friend of mine told me I grind like I’m still an assistant. That’s a huge compliment and I couldn’t be more grateful for the ability and mindset to “do better”. Always will. No let up.
Cancer gave me so much more than I ever imagined. Heartfelt thanks to
@KDTrey5
and
@KayYowFund
for the honor of being included on the KD 11 Aunt Pearl. All glory to God for His grace and strength for all victors!

Three years ago today, we celebrated the halfway mark of treatment. I share this:
1️⃣ To give all glory to God for His grace.
2️⃣ To encourage other victors who may be battling right now.
3️⃣ To remind us all that we’re still here for a reason.
#TGBTG
Was asked for photos from treatment. Get emotional looking at these. This is one of many reasons why:
1. I know prayer changes things.
2. I know if He did it once He’ll do it again.
3. You’ll never catch me not giving God all the glory.

5-11-15. My first official all clear. Seven years later, I am considered fully cured.
I praise God for His faithfulness and will continue to say, “If He never does anything else for me, He’s already done enough.”

“If what you’ve been through was not fatal, God designed it to be fruitful.”
Today is the six year anniversary of my first chemo treatment. I maximize each day because He allowed my scar to be a story of victory.
To God be the glory!

If you know me, you know how grateful I am to be at Loyola Maryland. Fit matters. Grateful to be part of this pivot with our amazing players, staff, administration, and campus community.
The evolution continues. No let up.

Attended Coach Inglese’s funeral. Hugs and tears with her family while celebrating an unmatched legacy.
All coaches sacrifice so much to encourage and teach others.
So in addition to one more “thank you” to Coach, this is a shout out to all coaches pouring into others.
The separator between elite and good players is conditioning per HOF Coach, Bob Huggins:
Elite players go as hard as they can for five minutes and take one minute to recover. Good players go as hard as they can for three minutes and take three minutes to recover.
1 thing I’ve come to understand (after losing my college HC unexpectedly): The beauty of the assistant coach experience is “getting your flowers” from players in real time. Head coaches get their flowers years after a player graduates and understands why you loved her/him tough.
Started “running” 32 days ago and just finished six miles. Special thanks to the folks that see me everyday and choose not to call EMS. I feel better than I look, I promise. 😂

1st round of treatment
I praise God for complete and total healing. I thank Him for the gift of perspective gained through this time. And since I’m still here…no let up!
Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Met two strangers tonight at dinner. One was a 30-year thyroid cancer survivor. The other is battling stage 4 breast cancer with all her might. Neither “looked sick”. Let’s continue to extend grace to each other. You never know what a person is managing.
Strong statement from a HS prospect today. She said she loves her coaches because coaches say honest things that others won’t to make her better.
Coaches, please always tell the truth and deliver it from a healthy and caring place.

Sat for my first chemo round eight years ago today. I maximize each moment because He allowed my scar to be a story of victory.
To God be the glory!

Proud to announce that I successfully completed my NCAA Coaches Recruiting Exam. In addition to evaluating and recruiting the next

greats, I get to post my outfits for another year. You’re welcome 😉
One of the best ways to get to know someone is to visit her/his hometown. Two takeaways from tonight:
1. Fewer hometowns are prouder of one of their own than Hutchinson, MN of

2. Family is not defined exclusively by bloodline.
The morning after the season ends is always an emotional one. While finishing the season with a win is always the goal, we miss the gift of the journey when that is only measure of success. Grateful for this ride with

Wrote this in 2015-16 season at KSU. I was not renewed in March.
8 years later, completed historic season at Loyola. Byproduct of an excellent team effort was being named Patriot League COY.
Write your thank you letter now. Put your head down and serve. To God be the Glory.
Julia R. O’Banion, the only queen I’ll ever acknowledge is resting peacefully in His arms. We thank God for her life. Please keep my father, her husband of 50 years and our family in your prayers. To God be the glory.

Coaches, most of the stuff we run is borrowed. I’m not afraid to admit that. When we play you and you hear your mascot’s name, that’s our way of citing our source. Thank you! 😉

Got curious and looked up the numbers. Down 24 pounds since April 27th. As my accountability partners, I thank you for your continued inspiration. No let up!
Things great players say on the court:
🔸”One more”
🔸”Screen right/left”
🔸”I got your help.”
🔸”Ball/Outlet”
🔸”Great job!”
🔸”Double” or “by yourself”
What would you add?
On hotel treadmill this morning with one other hotel guest. He said “Good job” when I finished my run. He didn’t have to, but he did. Made me smile. Excited to pay it forward today!
Check-up day. Always an anxious time even though I know God has me.

My why—to make my parents proud.
Today I got to hug and kiss both of my parents for the first time in over a year…and my Dad told me he was so proud of me.
I love God and His science for this priceless time.

Grateful to be part of a program and university that stand for what is right for all:

🔸We use our collective voices to bring attention to various issues of social injustice.
