Here's my first shot in ep 1 of

! It doesn't last long, but this shot had very detailed choreography so I went with more of a naruto-styled follow pan. To do this, I learned how to export a fisheye render of the BG in blender and traced it into a layout for OS

I can't express how fulfilling and bizarre it is to finally work on the real BLEACH, let alone such a famous fight and moment in the series. I'm really grateful to have been granted this opportunity. Thanks

This is actually a whole fuckin day late for the theme cause I'm a dumbass and started a whole scene late at night. It was too fun to give up on tho. I should stick with single cuts for the rest of the month.
you go in the nocturne tag and see the most unhinged shitpost art and chances are 50/50 that you click on the profile and its a character designer on the show and thats why i love my team
SAKUGA COLLAB!!! This was where almost every series animator at powerhouse pooled their nakama power together in jolly co-operation. Very epicc moment. Every single cut here had at least 2 animators working on it in some way. It was very rewarding.

I'm white American, but as someone who has seen all these movies and studies film design I think most of these examples are taken out of context. The stereotype exists, but for the most part these characters have plenty of reasons other than just being asian to dye their hair.
I was the animation lead on this show! I did the shot where He-Man somersaults away from scareglow jumping at him, as well as general corrections throughout most of the action.

Idk why I'm surprised about this, but making a whole fight scene in a single day is hard af. This is a super unrefined 40% of what I wanted, so it isn't much of a sword fight, but I plan on finishing it eventually.
@SpencerWan
@JDS_247
Lightning shaped like spiders biting Miguel as an impact frame for the venom explosion. I'm glad I went frame by frame on this. That's super creative.

I did not expect to get passed a BG assignment, but when I did I was committed to having fun with it. I get a lot of inspiration from yoh yoshinari and fromsoft's set design, so I tried to manifest that kind of surrealism. Super fun to experiment with.
The Machine Room
This set was my favorite for the season and was a big team effort.
@DFinitial
did a badass initial concept of the machine. I did the room and fleshed out the machine more in 3D.
@markadamscraft
added a bunch of fun detail work and did the final animated model.
#BLEACH
#ブリーチ I did some cleanup and inbetween work for the first scene with uryu's dream and him waking up, but at the time it was also my first shot at key animation.
@joshaguilar98
I kinda wish studio bones would just drop mha for this exact reason. Idk why they decided to consistently adapt a shonen manga every year. I can feel the tendonitis oozing from every shakey cam still frame.
I didn't do as much as josh did, but I managed to get a single cut in at around 3:10 here. This scene came out awesome and I'm so glad I got to have a hand in it.
@RetroRyno
@SmugrukoFrom
Oh yeah haha, some of my work on ep 2 is still on my portfolio, but ironically I also cleaned up some of the flame animations for genryusai in this exact scene for ep 1.
Was just recently hired as an in-house animator at
@powerhouseanim
and now I'm hype af. Unfortunately, for whatever amount of people might've been waiting to see me post artwork, that probably won't happen for awhile now that I'm here. Basically continuing my inactivity.😎
With the new announcements going on during
#NetflixGeeked
, I figured I'd post my work on

: Revelations Part 2. Starting with some Mark Hamill Skelegod character acting (def super glad this scene existed for me to animate).
It was pretty difficult bouncing back and forth between body types and creatures I'd never drawn before. At this point in the show I was starting to get addicted to drawing buff dudes tho lol
@DzikeatersH
@z_merquise
They do have clear differences if you research them enough. Murase uses more long, connected strokes with even line weight to imply stricter form, whereas Naoyuki Onda stylizes his line weight and shapes a bit more. Murase's style emphasizes form, Onda's style emphasizes anatomy.
@DanKantori
Thx! Figuring out the BG myself wasn't fully necessary because we do use 3d bg a lot, but I like to know exactly how a shot will look like when it's finished so as not to add workload to other departments.
@joshaguilar98
gets around this by doing a rough 3d bg pass in toon boom.
The model sheets for castlevania are really detailed and fun to draw, so I'm gonna try making as many anivembers involve these characters as I can. Look forward to day 17: swords.
Here's my share of fanart.
#CastlevaniaSeason2
was all I could think about during school. Squiggling Dracula with an Expo marker was really satisfying.
I don't post often but I actually spent a little time on a drawing for the first time in awhile. This took me about 15-20 minutes on my classroom's whiteboard.
@bahijd
After directing some openings and doing concept art for a game, do you prefer more design oriented jobs to animation? Stuff like bg concepts, storyboards or character designs . i'd definitely be interested in watching or animating characters that you design. Hypes me up imagining
@RubberNinja
Thundercats has always been a very serious show, even among it's usual competitors for each reboot. But having such a goofy looking promotional art that looks like Steven Universe and Teen Titans Go (both just turning the catchphrase of the main character) combined is sus as hell

The person who boarded this was
@DannyAraya
. The timing towards the end changed a tiny bit when I animated it, but his action boards are always really fun to animate because of how well composed and posed they are.
Wow, I actually almost gave up when I saw
@SamuelDeats
point out that after credits logo as the easter egg. I can't believe there was actually a wall chicken in the one scene I rewatched frame by frame over and over again.
@sstarkm
There's also that one guy that gets killed in godhand's dream that does the legion etiquette gesture from dark souls 3. Although I wont be satisfied until I find that wall chicken.
