I don’t think some people understand how detailed animation notes can be in feature film. Notes could be as large as “the emotion of the shot doesn’t feel quite right yet”. To as small as moving eyelashes just pixels to make a character look on model. We control everything

Here are a couple shots I animated of George and Gwen hugging. These were interesting cause they’re in a tight embrace, but emotionally so far apart. I wanted to slowly let them warm into the hug before that connection is interrupted again by George’s job #AcrossTheSpiderVerse

@leslievdb We had a flat black plane floating on top of the blank face model, and we’d shape the black plane to look like it’s a cutout. Then we’d use a blend shape to hide/cave in part of the face behind the plane so it looked cutout. And for super complex shapes, we used grease pencil

@throwawaymcgee6 @DylanVo68417 Animator here! Oners are TOUGH. If there are many characters, odds are multiple animators are working on the same shot. If those characters contact each other, the animators have to choreograph everything together to make sure it all lines up. So notes unravel that work quickly

Went to see The Broadway Sinfonietta perform Into the Spider-Verse live in concert!! They did such an incredible job! My favorite part was getting to watch them flex during the credits. Congrats on the amazing tour 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 #IntoTheSpiderverse #Concert #LiveMusic

This week was my one year anniversary @blizzard , but it was also my last week. The Cinematics Animation dept managed to make me feel like part of the team, even though I never stepped foot on campus. I’m gonna miss learning from these people, and hope to work with them again :)
