I never understand why in the #NHS we hear professionals refer to each other by pay grade- “Who’s your band 6 today” It’s a huge relief when I hear our colleagues being referred to by their title, shows a team who appreciate each other for their role in patient care #BeKind

Sad when I’ve heard “I’m just a domestic/housekeeper/cleaner” Their skill in the decontamination of care environments can massively reduce the risk of patients acquiring infection. It’s no easy job in the world of healthcare & I hope every colleague in the #NHS appreciates them!

Pt today was walking around the ward. I asked him if he was ok. He explained he was keeping active after falling ill with #sepsis due to his chest. Staff had advised him on #EndPJParalysis & #mouthcare -he wanted to do all he could to stop it happening again. Great pt education.

😂Feel like sharing this post for Junior Drs induction: -roll sleeves up -put apron on when dealing with body fluids (don’t get your chinos stained) -clean stethoscope between use -You might be asked to cannulate everyone but avoid lines where possible & go for IV to Oral switch

At the receiving end of @UHNM_NHS care again. This time County Hospital AMU and Ward 14 for my grandad who had a cardiac arrest yesterday. Thank you to all the amazing staff for their kindness, going above and beyond caring for the entire family ♥️ @LizRix_UHNM

@stefano_oggiano Sadly it doesn’t take long for comments that treat IPC as a barrier to something. I think we have proved time and time again that we are enablers to support our patients and staff. Never hesitate to contact IPC if you’re unsure of something prior to stating “IPC banned this”
