@ProvisionistP Before I was kicked out of my Calvinist church, I told the pastor that Paul was teaching that one’s election in Christ was dependent on faith in Romans 9. He said Romans 9 doesn’t mention faith at all, so I showed him Romans 9:30–33. It was like he read it for the first time haha

Determinists: God’s omniscience limits God’s ability to be holy/entirely separate from sin. He creates vessels of wrath who sin because He creates them without the ability to repent of their sins and live in obedience. Then He punishes them for eternity for the sins they commit

Wrath is not an attribute of God. Holiness and justice are attributes of God, and they require God’s wrath when anyone falls short of God’s perfect holiness (unless they are in Christ; Eph. 2:3, 1 Thess. 5:9). When sin entered the world, so did the necessity of God’s wrath.

This is a failure by the Church. Apologetics should be taught regularly within churches. It should be taught in Sunday school, small groups, and maybe even the main service on occasion (certainly within sermons when applicable).

@Soteriology101 If Calvinism is the reality God created, then we deny determinism because God sent us a spirit of error. If Calvinism is delusional, then those who adhere to it are dedicating their lives to blaspheming and profaning the holiness of God and are leading their families in that sin

@ProvisionistP I believe Romans 3:23–26 is the best passage that shows that the atonement is universal, but only received by those who have faith. If clear interprets the unclear, those who believe in LA would need a verse/passage even more clear than that to rightly claim Sola Scriptura.

There can’t be unity within the body of Christ if we refuse to accept correction or to hold those we respect accountable. We must actively seek correction even while we’re fully convinced we are correct. If we are correct, it’ll just strengthen our faith the more we do so.

@tgtengage If your theology implies or teaches that sin/rebellion/damnation is decreed by God, you are guilty of blasphemy and God doesn’t owe you salvation more than you owe Him repentance.
