Just in. As of this morning SRP’s 6 reservoirs on the Salt and Verde rivers collectively 99% full. Up from 63% in early December. Largest reservoir in the system, Roosevelt Lake is listed at 101% full. All of the 5 other lakes are 90+ percent full. Just incredible.

The new numbers out this morning from U.S. Drought Monitor show only 1.8% of the state remains in drought. Last year at this time, before the strong monsoon and big winter, 86% of Arizona was in drought. Remarkable. #AzWx

Update on San Carlos Reservoir at Coolidge Dam 125 miles east of Phoenix. USGS says the reservoir on the Gila River which is a huge source of water for central Arizona farmers and ranchers is now holding 505,300 acre feet of water. Last year at this point the number was 23,370.

Arizona Snowbowl wrapped up its longest season ever on Memorial Day. The resort near Flagstaff had 399 inches of snow this winter season. They average 260 inches of snow per season. The daily summer scenic gondola rides are scheduled to begin June 16.

Fall begins late tonight in AZ. Countless heat records shattered in Phoenix this summer including the most 110 & 115 degree days. Most overnights at 90+ degrees. And if we don’t get almost a quarter of an inch of rain by 9/30 this will be the driest monsoon in Phoenix history.

The water level keeps rising at the nations second largest reservoir Lake Powell. Up about 35 feet in the past month. Powell now 32 percent full after dropping to 21%. The nations largest reservoir Lake Mead is 31 percent full and up approximately 4 feet since the end of April.

Arizona now has 8 hotshot crews assigned to California. Aravaipa, Black Mesa, Flagstaff, Geronimo, Globe, Mormon Lake, Payson & Prescott. New Mexico has sent 3 hotshot crews. Carson, Gila and Mt Taylor. Southwest Area Type 1 Incident Management Team has been sent to Oregon.
