@peterrhague This is my experience too. I lobbied on behalf of a large car manufactuer in Brussels - basically trying to make policy as good and efficient as possible for the introduction of EVs. The biggest enemy of the EV were environmental NGOs who fought tooth and nail against.

Classic shopping on a Saturday in #Brussels . As during the week shops close at 6pm and no one can actually use them, whilst on Sundays everything is closed, the whole city has to shop on Saturdays and queue for ages to get a silly shirt or a pair of trousers...

Anyone familiar with the Porte de Namur / Toison d'Or area knows very well how it became infested with drug gangs over the span of years. The worst thing about Brussels is that no one cares about anything. This was preventable with such small effort. Give me back my taxes.

A European Parliament assistant working for an MEP in the European People’s Party was shot and injured in Brussels on Wednesday night. Belgian media reported that four people were injured in the shooting, which took place on Avenue de la Toison d’Or.

The EU forced Apple to ditch the model whereby it takes a cut of each app sale. Apple is now reformulating the EU App Store to instead charge a flat fee to apps per download. The EU App Store is about to see a collapse in small developers & innovation.

Not one cyclist on Rue de la Loi respects pedestrian priority (enforced by bicycle-specific traffic lights, also ignored). Cyclists should have licences with points, just like all the responsible road users.
